Well, after 6 years and 40,000 miles, I decided to get a carbon clean. I've been to Berg Performance a few times before for basic oil changes. Aaron and Jeff are great guys and very precise/anal about how they do things. They really put in a lot of effort in all their work, especially when it came to installing the 034 intake manifold flap linkages (PITA to install). The carbon was pretty wet for what they have seen on other cars. I have ran various liqui moly oils and snake oil solvents, and the last oil change was Schaeffers 5w-30. Berg sent in an OA, so we'll see how the oil held up after 7500 miles. I'll post the results when they arrive. The carbon reminded me of soft racing tire debris. It was soft and gooey, and kind of fun to play with. Now for the pics!

and the new tramp stamp (good for 35 whp, right?)

The car feels AMAZING! Lots of low end torque, less-linear RPM band (I finally have that 5.5k kick back again), and I love cruising in 4th gear now. Perfect amount of power to cruise around 45 in traffic.

***Just to note, Berg Performance did not put me up to this, nor do I work for them. I just wanted to share my experience and give props to Aaron and Jeff!

I'd like to see how much as well. Obv your 8 cylinder cost more than my 4 banger.. at least hope so.

Let me know.

Thx

No need to go private on costs, we're all adults here. That would probably be the best way to promote their work.

They charged actual labor hours + parts. It was around $1000 with the 034 linkage instal. I think for the carbon clean, labor was around $700. My fiancÚ has the receipt in her car right now so I don't have across to it. Berg is the cheapest shop for carbon scrub on the front range (I've gotten several quotes for over $1000 just for carbon clean).

That's a pretty good deal and good looking results.
