My right rear window is stuck about 1/4 of the way down. I like in Texas, and right now it is the stupid hot part of the year, so getting this fixed is super important. The motor partially works, but it's almost sounding like grinding, and the window can be forced up, but won't stay. What do you think it is guys? Also, I can see why they say older audi's are money pits

Could be off-track or, like in my case, a broken track wheel/spool. I'd suggest to take the door panel apart to give it a good once over. Pretty straightforward to disassemble...

If nothing else it will allow you to jamb a stick of wood or something under the glass to pin it up in place until you can fix it properly.

Sounds like the little green plastic clip that holds the metal bracket broke. If the motor still works then I'd just pick up a new window regulator and install it

How much do you think this is going to cost me?

I think I bought my regulators for about 50 or 60 on eBay. There's a DIY for replacing them around here somewhere.

yeah its not too bad price wise, you'll need to drill out the rivets holding the window regulator in, and rivet it back in
