I was driving on the highway and my car just died out of no where. The car has not shown any signs of issues and no cels. I was driving at normal speed and then the screen said oil pressure and PRNDS lit up. Then the car would crank but not start. I checked the oil and it was fine and there aren't any leaks. I scanned the car with the torque app and it showed network error. Trird then to reset everything by unhooking the battery. Still didn't work. Then checked the fuses and the engine management fuse was blown replaced it and it blew again as soon as I turned on the ignition.

Does anyone have any idea or insight before I take it in to a shop.

Sorry if there are any typos or anything I'm on my phone.

Let me know if I can explain anything better.

Sounds like a major short somewhere check for all grounds in the engine bay something most likly came loose and fell off, knowing that your fuse keeps blowing...

I figured it was a fuse that was blowing it was just weird that the oil pressure flashed too. I plan on looking over everything when I finally get home but any suggestions on where to possibly start with the search?

Also, do you have any idea if i can do a scan with my vag com if the fuse is blown on the emu...

I think there is something in the forum about PRND flashing. Do a search and see what comes up.

I did search for that and came up with a result the TCU could be fried, but the car itself wont even start and the PRNDS isnt flashing its just bolded in red.

Yeah sounds like your problem. Find a 6MT and swap it out. I think there was a girl on here though that talked the dealer down to like $200 for a new tranny since she just leased it like 2 months prior.

I was pulling apart everything to check all the connections which led to me deciding to do a carbon cleaning while I was going over everything. I pulled out the throttle body and the sensor... the sensor was soaked an oil an the intercooler piping going from the side mount to the throttle body was coated in oil too. I know you all suggest its the transmission but I feel like there is something else because I dont see why the car will crank but wont start if there is an issues with the Trans... I know the transmission is an issue which I was planning on addressing but the blown fluses for the EMU and the oil all over the sensors makes it seem like there is a different issue or even multiple.

Could the oil coating sensors prevent the car from starting up?

Oil is normal in the throttle body and intercooler piping. I'm pretty sure when the TCU goes out it sets off a hard fault which shuts down everything to prevent you from destroying the transmission.

Oil in the intake and in the inter cooler tubes is due to the pcv system and is normal. This is why most get catch cans to prevent the oil turning into carbon. Get an obd2 scanner and check you oil pressure if you think there is an issue with your oil pump but it is not a high fail item. Tip tannys are know to have tcu /tcm failures and the .cu might not allow the engine to run if there is a gear engaged. Might also pull the battery cable to clear the tranny tcu/tcm. Also check plugs and the cam follower.

I do have a catch can. I am unable to scan because the scanner will not connect to the ecu because of the fuse blowing.

I feel like you all are right on yhe transmission which I was hoping wasn't the issue but it makes sense. I just need to figure out t he fuse issue. It seems like its never just one thing that goes wrong
