Morning AZers,
Buying an A4 Avant here in a little over a week. Very excited to get it. It has a debadged hatch, which looks great, but Id like to put the 4 rings back in their rightful spot (because everyone needs to know what just passed them was an Audi hahahaha).
Being the perfectionist I am, I want to get that badge positioned exactly where it should be from the factory. Thus... could anyone get me the measurements of where the badge sits on the hatch so I know where to put it? Would need left edge to left edge of the badge, right edge to right edge of the badge, bottom of the rear glass to top of the badge, and the edge above the license plate to the bottom of the badge. That should get me perfect placement.
Thanks in advance!

How about centering it. its not rocket science. just use masking tape or something like I do and tape it off first before applying.....too easy. also try using the search function in the upper right hand corner of your screen! Have fun with the new purchase!

If you're going to re-badge the rear with rings you should consider A8 rings because they're bigger and fill in the space on the hatch a bit better.

thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately OEM location isn't dead center vertically in the space so I needed to know what those measurements were to be sure of where I put it. I wasn't able to find any results in the searching I did that pertained specifically to the question I had. I must be doing something wrong since you're so certain of my apparent "incompetence" in regards to this non-rocket science [;)]

Thats a very subtle difference but I like it! Price is also almost 50% less than what ECS wanted to charge for the stock B7 badge. Thanks for the link, I'll definitely be using one of those.

and now your measurements are useless anyway! lol. good luck.
the only reason i haven't 'upgraded' to A8 rings, is because i don't think i could get em situated well enough to be satisfied lol

I kinda have the same reservation at this point! Centered vertically b/w the crease and the license plate? Align the bottom of the rings with the bottom of the old rings?! Who knows!

Forgot about that little crease in the hatch.
if Audi is anywhere near as OCD about placement as I am, I bet the OEM rings are centered in that space between the crease and plate... but with the bigger rings Id venture to say use the bottom of the OEM rings as the bottom of the larger rings? The picture in the post linked to above is the only example I've found of them on an Avant so its hard to say...

I think I would do the same as you describe above. Maybe small adjustments from there as I desire.

Brett's Rear A8 rings look pretty dope. You should do it. Hell I should do it and not even tell my fiance, haha. I'll just tell her I noticed the old rings were falling off...

Hey guys, it looks like the image on this post got deleted. Does anyone still have it? The numbers don't appear to make sense without the image. We're wanting to install this on our B7 A4 avant.

Body man taught me a trick. No need for complicated measurements. Get blue tape run a clean edged strip from the outer most point of each taillight, then simply fold it in half and you'll have your center point (mark it with pen). Then do the same for the vertical space of the trunk lid, and you'll have the both center points. Just center the rings mark outer edges with tape and put it on.
