Hello. One of my Audi's started (few months ago) giving me some grinding noise. Once I pressed the accel. pedal all the way down and release it quickly I can hear grinding, weird, unpleasant noise. I've record the sound and hope someone may have some suggestions.
The car is 2008 Audi A4 S-line FWD, CVT, 2.0T. No warranty.
Here is the sound :

noise when you let off the gas?
Sounds like a failed diverter valve from the audio.

Its the CVT most likely. Which has no clutch incidentally.

I thought the CVT had a 6-plate clutch.
Obviously different than a clutch in a manual car, but a clutch nonetheless.

The sound occurs only when I let the gas go off. Was thinking if it is a flywheel.

Is it tuned? Are you familiar with the DV sound?

I spent last night listening to a different videos and comparing it to the car and must admit it indeed sound extremely similar. Thank you guys for the help will order a knew one and see how it goes. Any suggestions on which one too choose? Should I go with some upgraded stuff or stick to OEM?
