Here are some before and after pictures of the USP Motorsports Intake. I love the sound but it is not quiet if that is what you are going for. Under semi aggressive to full bore launches You can hear the supercharger whine and people will know there is something special under the hood. But cruising from red lights and on highway it is dead silent. I will try to get a video up soon.

How much did it all take for you Mike? 1.5 hrs?

450$
It took me about 15 minutes. Its so incredibly simple, just go for it. If you have ever turned a wrench then you can do this.

Aha! So you mean after I remove the filter, it's easy peasy to put the USP one there?

Yes exactly, you do not need more than 10-15 minutes.
It's that simple

So basicly the "Mass airflow sensor on the air filter not installed" means that...?
I didnt get that part of "skipping some steps"..

3.2 FSI engine uses Manifold absolute pressure(MAP) instead of Mass air sensor (MAS)
MAP - Manifold absolute pressure and temperature sensor
MAP sensor is built to another place is not as MAS after the air filter

Yeah, you assume that you get a full instruction of how to install a certain thing you buy. But nah, not even that..

May I ask if my kit for the 3.2 looks same as yours to the 3.0T?

What is the "small filter" and where do you put that?
Q5Mike
05-23-2013, 10:21 AM
When you take the stock airbox out, on the left side you will have to disconnect a hose that was plugged into the box. On the end of that hose it has a fitting that fits perfectly to that small filter. Just push it on and let it hang there.

Also the heat shield does not fit perfectly to the metal mount attached to the car. So i used the two black ties given in the kit to attach it to the car mount using 2 of the three holes drilled out for you in the shield. Your best bet is to print out a few pictures one this thread and have them next to you while installing.

Could you maybe help me, by with this picture explain what the steps are exactly to do this? That would help me a lot.

Glad to hear that. It has been a long wait.
So the 3.0T and the 3.2 is exactly the same installation?
Thanks Mike!

Okay guys.
I installed my USP Motorsports intake system ton my 3.2 Quattro today.
And I can tell you, the combination of the AWE resonated exhaust, together with this intake system... Wow!! Just with the exhaust, you have this amazing exhaust sound, coming from the back, when in full throttle. But with the intake system, now the amazing sound is coming from the engine too. Love it! It's just perfect. Quiet when you cruize, and BOOOM when you floor it.
I will upload a video of the sound in an hour or so.
But first, I faced TWO problems.
In the video that USP Motorsports made for the 3.0T installation, it's not really the same when it comes to the 3.2.
(I'm sorry for the iphone pictures, but Im sure you see what is on them)
1. There are no "holes" for the heat shield. Either you have to drill 2 or 3 holes in the metal, or you do as I did. I took some extra clamps, and did like this:
http://s13.postimg.org/fm78ng3o7/IMG_3.jpg
2. Then, the last step in the video of the 3.0T installation, it looks so easy when the breather hose is attatched to the pipe, on that little stick/hole in it, and closed up with a clamp.
Well, I tells ya: no chance on the 3.2! Because it's too short.
http://s13.postimg.org/6sgc6cgpj/IMG_0302.jpg
So, what I did, is took a small hose that was in the factory filter housing, and used some clamps, to made the hose little longer.
http://s13.postimg.org/va8fu8j9z/IMG_1_1.jpg
So, I can ask the question to USP Motorsports for customers with the Q5 3.2 Quattro.
- is it okay to use clamps for the heat shield as i did?
- is it okay to make the hose longer, or will the clamps not hold it together? What happens if that little hose goes off? Will there be any error codes? I mean I don't wanna pop the hood every time to see if it sits.
Thanks! And as I said, a video is coming up! (not with iphone, but with Canon EOS 5D MII;) )

AudiT,
The heat shield should be attached with three self-tapping screws that are included in the kit.
The extension for the vacuum hose you used is fine there is no pressure behind that line. This is the first we have seen of this so we will either supply a small extension and or modify the design slightly.
Thank you and again sorry for the delay in install video.

Yes I know. I tried to screw them in with a screw-gun and all the power I got, and I'm pretty strong. No chance. So can you please tell me how on earth they should go though that metal?
Also, can it be like it is now? I mean attached with the clamps?
Glad to know about the vacuum hose, that it's not important. And yes, you have to modify the design, cause it's not long enough, and the little knob is too far away.
And thanks for the video. There is no chance I would have done it without the video, or any instruction help.

The clamps should be temporary on the heat shield. Try taking a small (smaller diameter than the screw) drill bit to start a whole in the desired space and then using the self-tappers.

After installing mine which you posted pics on here as well of I advised USP about the hose being short and having to get a longer one, glad I was not the only one with the issue but would have hoped they would have already fixed it.

So, that means that you need a metal drill to begin with, right? That is something you must add as a text or something, in the video you posted, cause it's really confusing when you have small screws and a strong metal part and you stand there like a question mark. I will try the drilling.

I understand that but we did it in house with small electric drill and the self-tappers. I am helping as you cannot install in the same method.
