View Full Version : Failed Connecting Rod (Parts Car)

Hey Audi Lovers,

I picked up a 2001 audi a4 1.8T with a connecting rod that failed from a buddy for a little under $500. When the timing belt was replaced it was off 1 tooth and the pulleys were not replaced! Do you guys think that this is what caused the connecting rod to fail? The car is a manual and it starts but smokes out the exhaust. Also, the CEL code is a misfire for all the cylinders.

P.S - If you would like to buy any parts from this car let me know (Silver). The car is complete other than the stripped interior minus the dash and steering wheel.

How much for the motor

Make an offer. I kind of wanted to keep the turbo though but for the right price I would get rid of it.

Staggered. It is in Somers on May 5th and VERY similar to DoD. Many of the same cars minus the New Yorkers for the most part.
