Wiring Help B6 A4 w/bose

Hello all,

So I have a 2004 A4 B6 with bose and no wheel controls and I have a couple questions.

1. I keep hearing the bose speakers are 2ohms. But are the speakers themselves 2ohms, or are they wired in parallel or series with the tweeters to create this load? I found a diagram that may help, I must be reading it wrong because it doesn't make full sense to me.

2. I'm looking at all the wiring I'll need for an aftermarket head unit install. I see the harness I'll need from Enfig, but I don't know which antenna adapter.

Yes, the Bose speakers are 2-ohms.
Spend an extra few dollars on new speakers and a new amp.
Bypass the Bose speakers / amp. It will always be a major weak point if you try and keep them in your new setup.

Thanks dc, that's what I figured. I'm planning a full rebuild of the stereo including amp and speakers. Just trying to gather my facts on and how these tweeters are wired so I can utilize OEM wiring. The double dash line on the diagram going to tweeter makes me think there's an inline crossover, i'm hoping I'm wrong.

if you check on the wiring posted, the R21 and R26 has a little capacitor on the side of loudspeaker logos.
This capacitor is used to cut the low frequency than this indicate that that is the tweeter.
The capacitor is an open circuit for low frequency and a short circuit for high frequency.
The relation between the hom impedances of the loudspeaker and the value of the capacitor give the cut of frequency value.

I had disconnect the original amplifier and subwoofer and exchange it with two amplifier that driver original Loudspeaker plus external subwoofer.
Please note that not all amplifier drive 2Hom impendence loudspeaker, than take care about the amplifier characteristic or add a 2hom resistor in series to the original loudspeaker

Thanks Johno. According to the diagram, our cars are wired in parallel by factory wiring with a capacitor working as a the tweeter crossover. If we add in a component set that is a 4ohm woofer and 4ohm tweeter using the factory wiring, the amp will see a 2ohm load right?

It depend what you add.
Usually the set woofer plus tweeter are just calibrate to have a 4 hom load.
If you use the standard wire you should check which load can drive your amplifier.
There are amplifier that can drive from2 to 8 hom some other only 4 hom

You sound like you know what you are talking about :) my problem is the previous owner was a few cells short in his brain and cut the cables! Anyone with sense would have bought an adapter but anyways.

I managed to wire it back up but I am only getting sound from the dash speakers. The door speakers I understand are subs driven by the amp which I cannot find and the rear have to be turned up to full before you hear a distorted output.

I have a few cables which don't have a home ( 3 brown ones).

What I need to find out is where these cables go and where is the amp.

I have a B6 cabrio CD Radio single din.

Help!
