Hey everybody,

I am looking for someone or a shop to install a new clutch and flywheel on my 2001 1.8t quattro. Probably going with the new B7 RS4 kit from JHM. Anyway, every shop in the Roaring Fork Valley has quoted me at $800 or above for labor, which I'm having trouble coming to term with. I am more than willing to take a day trip to Denver if the price is right, or to work out a deal with a fellow wrencher in CO if they're up for the job. Any shops or people in mind? Thanks!

Out of all the times you've driven by my shop, never once stopping in, have we ever looked like scavengers or not busy ;)? No we aren't 3z3, but we don't have that overhead either ;) We always have a car to fix or a swap to do or a project to finish. I just like to keep these good guys busy.

Well that'd be on him wouldn't it? I'm sure a legitimate shop with 8+ years of BBB accreditation and licensed techs wouldn't let a "botched" job leave. Eh?

In his defense, he did respond. But said "not a word" in response to me asking "got something to say dude?"

My bad dude. In no way, shape, or form was I trying to dis anyone, or anyone's shop. I assumed all three replies were from people wanting some spare change and a little work in their home garage, because i know thats mec's goal. Haha.

I always forget you are with Hardey's, and I meant zero offense. I would stop in on a dime, if my allegiance wasn't already with 3z3. I would love if my tuner was a couple miles from my house, as opposed to 50 minutes away.

^glad it worked out for you!

Just to clarify a point for the forum: I don't work on other people's cars. Well, at least not for money, though I might for beer. Nor was my PM to the OP a solicitation for such (beer or money).

Glad it worked out for you, though!

Thanks to Hardeys for taking care of me yesterday and for great service. They are all nice guys and had comfy couches, cable, and wifi while I hung out ALL day. After getting in there they discovered I also had a leaky rear main seal and were able to get that part in and take care of it as well. I will definitely keep them in mind for future projects
