After extensive research and development, AWE Tuning is proud to release the Audi 4.0T S7 and S6 Touring Edition Exhaust systems. Developed, tested and manufactured in house at AWE Tuning, these systems are constructed from 2.5” T304 Stainless Steel and feature 4”OD Slash Cut tips in either Polished Silver, or Diamond Black. Both the S6 and S7 systems are sold as a complete kit including resonated downpipes.

Quick question, aside from HP/TQ figures, is there a weight savings?

The rear section is lighter than stock, but the weight of the resonated downpipes that are included makes this system's overall weight identical to the stock unit.

Fair enough. Thanks for the quick response.

Do you have any better pictures of the tips? And how much do these systems sell for?

The systems retail for $2599 with Polished Silver tips and $2699 with Diamond Black tips. Here is a close-up of the Diamond Black option.

Looks like the Black Diamond tips are black inside and polished outside. Is this correct? Since I'm occasionally lazy about cleaning my tips, I'd prefer all black. Also, I get an error message for the S7 video.

The Diamond Black tips are the same color both inside and out, and would be the best option if you rarely clean your tips, so long as you only use a soft brush and soapy water to do so.

The S7 video is working well on my end, but here is a direct link to it on YouTube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zf7qMU6lqw)

I've got some silly questions....

I was reading through the installation instructions and particularly noticed the tight clearances to the sway bar mount and other body components. Would it be of any advantage to wrap the pipes or ceramic-coat them in these areas (or throughout) to prevent premature bushing failures or other heat related issues? I can only assume the stock routing is very similar - but the overengineering mind in me wonders...

Also, would there be any advantage to 3" pipes? Or is 2.5" pipes plenty good for this motor? What is the stock diameter?

As the exhaust heats up, it lengthens, moving the tubing away from the sway bar bushings. In the years we have been designing and manufacturing exhaust systems, we have never seen an issue with that sort of proximity to the swaybar bushings. Continual air flow under the car keeps things a lot cooler than one would imagine.

In regards to the 2.5" exhaust diameter, it was found to be the optimal size for a combination of sound and performance. This resulted in a civilized volume at part-throttle and max gains of 27hp and 31tq. For reference, the stock system is 2.36" and much more restrictive.

Just doesn't sound like I expected in the YouTube clip. I would definitely need to hear it in person
