4.2 blades look even better on the narrow body C5's than they do on the 4.2s.

^^ really? i always loved the widebody look and wish i had the 4.2 (they both use pretty much same MPG but 4.2=more power)

if you think they look clean on a narrowbody i might pick some up :)

also, how easy is it to remove the factory door blades ? and how do you apply new ones? double sided tape?

They just stand out more on the narrow body cars IMO. I definitely love the widebody 4.2s, I think those fender flares and that 4.2 V8 in my life.

I think it's pretty damn easy. I removed mines for a few minutes (for absolutely no reason) a while back, it was like 2 phillips head screws on the inside of the door and then slide the blade(s) towards the back of the car a bit and they fall out. I think the 4.2s are a direct bolt-on, but for the Allroads door blades, I think they need a slight modification (nothing major, removing some clips/tabs or something like that).

There's a couple of guys in this thread with the widebody door blades on their narrow body cars:

People always have them for sale here and there. Otherwise, you can buy brand new ones still from ebay. I didn't see if it was answered yet or not, but to remove them is just two phillips screws on the inside of the bottom of your door. Super simple. BUT! BE CAREFUL! These phillips bolts are notorious for getting rusted and stuck when trying to remove them. Just go easy, use a little PB Blaster spray, and you'll be fine.

bro i envy your car, thats what i want mine to look like. i regret not buying a white C5.and if your car was for sale for a good deal i would fly out and buy it and drive it back to CA lol. +props on your ride.

i saw some for sale on here in the classifieds, i sent the seller a PM and he never replied, its been days. almost a week.
how much should i spend on them? like whats the max i should pay? i dont care if they are used because i will plastidip them anyway. as long as they arent damaged.

Yes. Rs6 flat blades are much better, but not enough of a difference on a narrow body to justify them.

An allroad, 4.2, or s6 is another story though...

makes no sense in my situation.
i like the wide look. wider door blades would be a win. flat door blades....well u might as well not have any door blades at all.

theres an allroad being parted out and has the aluminum door blades. i might just snatch those up and see how they look on my car before painting them.

hit me up as soon as you decide to sell. if i like your price ill buy them right away :)

its funny because the euro salvage yard here has a white 4.2 with pass side damaged, and a allroad with all 4 door blades in top shape lol. opposite of yours.

I'm the opposite, to me 4.2L blades just look awkward and out of place on the narrowbody cars. It's sort of like trying to dress Olive Oyl up in a sexpot outfit, they just don't have the hips to pull the look off as it were. To each their own of course but without the wide fenders it just looks silly and out of place to me.

I think they look out of place regardless, but I seem to be the only person on the planet who thinks so.
