For the S6 owners here, are there any no-brainer options? I want something on the quieter side.
The only non-custom option I've seen is Milltek.

Delete mufflers with straight pipes. Leave resonator intact. It's perfect.

The Magnaflow for the 2.7/4.2 would likely fit. Might just have to do something custom with the rear tip fitment, if anything.

RS6 exhaust should also fit, if you can find one used.

RS6 exhaust sounds nice, and is not that loud although most exhaust systems are "louder" with the Avant's

I'm with you on this one. I don't like the "raspier" sound of 6 cylinder or 4 cylinder engines (it's just MY preference). I was going to do cat delete and leave stock muffler and resonator. Think that'll be much louder? I concerned more about performance while still keeping it as quiet as possible.

Form something similar the B7 S4 Mufflers were on sale recently for $100, buried somewhere in here:

edit: sort of looks like they're confused a little. Parts diagram lists the same thing as either the muffler or resonator- 2006 Audi w/S4 but it may be $75.

I have this, and the drone is crazy from 2100 - 3200 rpm.

On your s6? I don't have an avant, so might be different. Can't account for what a 2.7T sounds like without mufflers.

In my old 2.7 I had piggies, removed cats, removed resonator, left the stock mufflers in place. Breathing was way better for the 2.7 but the exhaust note barely changed. Quiet as can be.
