Ordering an S6....time to join the crowd....so now.....

Like my Glut Orange S5 that nearly everyone in the Audi community knew about......its time to move on to something new.

Enter the S6. I havent completely crossed out an A7 TDI option...but I am about there.

This car, like my S5 will be a Fourtitude.com project car, so we are already tossing around some wheel/exhaust/tune ideas. (Doubt I will touch the suspension, its already on air and you can go a bit lower with VAG COM tweeks) - I am not 100% against getting a "stock" color...but I am leaning Audi Exclusive.

Questions is...what color to do? I would like to go Audi Exclusive again...and my criteria is simple and the same that I used on my S5. With few exceptions, I am not interested in Black, Grey, White or some other shade of a standard factory color. I am really interested in choosing a color that even to a non Audi fan would know upon looking at it "Thats not normal." - to that end, it is a large sedan, not all colors work and I wouldnt get something crazy like Imola just for that reason. It needs to be bespoke but it needs to WORK. Orange WORKED as set up on my S5. Still mulling over what WORKS on a S6.

Anyone have some ideas? Any pictures out there of exclusive S6's?

Nogaro blue? RS uses Sepang, which would be 'exclusive' on the S6, but still technically 'factory'.

2014 Order guides hit Monday. I want to see if they give us a legit red, not a marron like we have now. Also, sounds like we are getting Ti Pkg. Outside that, black interior, carbon, Full LED and thats about it. Dont even need 20"s those will come on the project....or 21".....

I am not a huge blue person. I like them....but cant see myself owning one. Misano Red. Velvet Purple. Venetian Violet. Aviator Grey...all on the short list....and so is Glut Orange again. I have seen quite a few PS mock ups and it works.

I also saw an R8 GT with matte pearl white that looked awesome.

I would love to see another tuned a6 I think I'm one of the few. As for color I think the matte colors need to be done like that matte silver or baby blue they did on the r8's.

Not a fan of pale green and a bright green like viper is a bit much. Not really looking at matte BUT I did mention I have some exceptions to my black, grey, white etc rule....and the Daytona Matte offering for the RS7 is tempting. No idea on price point.

I have Misano Red on my C6 and it looks great. I tinted the windows with 35% all the way around and it really makes the car with the color. It also looks really good when the sun hits it just right and you can see the pearl effect shine through.

I like the Ipamena (sp?) color too. Or what about a deep metallic bronze/orange color? Definitely different on an S6.

Avis isn't bad - just not special enough vs the stock silver and greys Audi provides stock. Same with Suzuka. What I mean is, I don't think it's different enough to carry a 2500 premium.

Velvet Purple is on the list as an option.

Impanema is different, like Suzuka I feel like I have seen it alot recently. Same with Somoa Orange.

It's tough finding a "color" that stands out and is bold enough to worth the 2500 surcharge and an "obvious" non stock color....because you immediately go to Orange, Yellow, Green, etc almost all of which I don't really think will work. So trying to find that option that can wear both hats is not easy.

On your color suggestion, what about Aventurinorange? Looks like a cross between red and orange. You can look at some exclusive colors on the Audi UK configuration page and apply them to the CGI car.

Thank you. Nice choice on the RS7 and color. The deep purple paNther sets off is very nice....I was hoping the 2014 MY would provide an additional option or two, in particular color, that would make this easier. I mean, no reason to spend 2500 bucks if you dont have too! Alas, after reviewing the 2014 Order Guide that I got my hands on last night, our new color choice this year on the S6 is Havana Black (a metallic black with a dark brown hue in direct sun...not bad, but not what I am looking for. Another option of note that I likely will take advantage of is the alcantara headliner, new for 2014.

I stand corrected. Havana was offered in 13 also. So it looks like the only S6 ad is the optional headliner. Hopefully Audi doesn't try to charge to much for it- considering, a blach headliner is a zero cost option.

Only significant change is side assist and power folding mirrors now standard while base seats have been decontented from 12 way to 8 way.

Audi added the optional 2013 $500 dollar side assist/folding mirrors, pre sense package as standard in 2014 to fall in line as justification for the new year pricing increase. Usually price increase is around 2-2.5% year over year.

Thank you. Thats awesome. That car will look great in Sepang. I was at the dealer today and they had an Oolong Grey there that I was looking at....wasnt specked the right way, but can never look at too many colors.

Sepang was my first choice, but since I ordered before pricing was released, I didn't want to pay $2500 extra on top of an unknown base price. Be sure to post pics when you get it so I can dream about what I could have had :P

I love the misano red, but it seems to br offered here and there through the Audi lineup.

The new Nardo grey is cool too. Or a Porsche color like carmine red offered on the Panemera gts.

I have done some PS work and glut will In fact work. It's tempting and on a short list with Nardo and Aviator. I am awaiting to hear back in an email to Germany in a specific red and also any Audi AG oranges I may be not thinking of beyond Glut/Solar, papaya, Somoa or AventuriOrange.

RettlerT has the S6 in Aviator, and another guy on AudiWorld has the S6 in Misano. Both look great. Are you much of a fan of nimbus? I think it could look pretty good on S6, but i for sure hear where you're coming from about wanting something totally different (that still looks good).

As far as other Greys like Nimbus or Nardo. Possibe...but like I said, I would like to go with a color as first choice.

The only Green I like is Java. I think it would look great on an S6 but I would get board of it quick.

The UK website is minimalistic at best. I want to stay with an Audi AG color - that said, what is listed on the configurators or in the Audi Exclusive Exterior Color Order Guides literally only scratch the surface. I might just go with my Glut Orange.

Doing Orange again is a strong possibility - however I am not sure about Somoa. I think it's a nice color if not something that is becoming a "common" Audi Exclusive choice (along with Daytona, Suzuka. Imola. Misano, Sepang etc) in addition to the fact that its on the TT and R8 now.

The list of Audi AG 2500 dollar colors is huge (thousands) Thousands are out there. However- people always order the same 20. I want to hopefully find something different. I am looking for unique non listed Audi AG oranges and Reds now, waiting for an email back fr Germany.

Yeah getting that list is the hard part. The dealers want you to tell them what color you're looking for rather than offer a palette of what's available.

If it was up to Audi, every car would be Black White or Silver. Sure they offer Audi Exclusive and a two page doc with some color codes, but seeing samples of those colors? Good luck. You have to search and search online to find maybe one picture of a rare color and if you do you have to trust it was labeled correctly. Not easy to do.

Then, beyond that that list has thousands of colors. We see tr same ones because, and rightly so usually, people order what they can see at a dealer.

Anyway- I should hear something back soon. What I would like us a metallic or pearlversion of my Glut Orange.
