Damaged VAC line

Just had my car into the shop for a CEL I got a while ago. I don't have VAGCOM so I first took it to Auto Zone to have them read the code and it came back for a loose gas cap. Before I shelled out the 60 bucks for a super special Audi cap I wanted to take it to a shop to make sure that was the culprit. Well the results from the shop aren't so favorable. They say I have a broken valve due to a damaged vac line running from the engine down the passenger side of the car. I opted to have them replace it rather than repair, so I'm looking at about $650 with the valve, new line, and labor costs. Anyone had this issue, and does this price seem about right?
