Apologies for the late response.

Pretty sure this is it:

The description refers to both right and left sides. The part number is definitely for the left (USA Driver's) side of the car.

That seat cover, on the other hand, is a bit more pricey:

I was talking about the water deflector, thanks. The problem is that it seems to be all rusted where it connects, how does it hold in place exactly, is it a clip in?

It is a clip-in operation yes. The rust you have there is likely due to a careless and improper windshield installation some time ago. You should really fix the rust before it gets worse, but that involves removing the windshield and doing it again properly. Probably not something that is reasonable to go after.

The metal "clamping strip" that receives the water deflector is a separate item:

If it is damaged, and will not receive the new deflector, you will probably need to replace it. I'm not sure if that involves removing the glass or not. To put this in persective, if a windshield repair person (ie: Safelite, etc) ran across a case such as yours, they would decidedly not be ordering dealer parts to fix it. They would get out a roll of generic, "windshield edge trim" , cut some off, and glue it in place. Sure it would look crappy, but the job would be done, and they'd be on to the next.

Are you suggesting I get a windshield repair shop to do just that or should I try to clean out the clamping strip and put a new water deflector in?

If it were mine? I would do the latter. And I would do something about that seat. lol

No worries. I'm just teasing. My seat is blown apart as well. It's like a right of passage when you get into the Audi high miles club.
