I currently own a Audi S4 2005.5 model. I bought it new. Having issues with getting the engine to start. I have done what I could prior to taking the car into the local Audi dealership, but I am not educated with 4-stroke engines. My specialty is with 2-stroke jet ski engines. At this point, the below text is where the diagnostics are currently as of March 13, 2013. Again, the car is at the dealership and below is what the tec and I have gathered thus far. The week prior, the dealership replaced the "crank sensor" which was chewed thru by a squirl or something.

I have noticed this site to be very informative so I have decided to sign up and see if this can assist in my troubles and ease the Audi labor costs etc.

The 3 key catalyst for an engine to run...

Spark, Compression, and Fuel right....

1."IGNITION/SPARK.........Yes, the Audi tech hooked computer up to car yesterday after I jumped the two broken cam sensor wires "which were also chewed thru" with alligator clips and "NO" codes popped up, we checked it thee times, and "NO" codes, everything passed.

2. Compression,... Well not 100% but I think the odds of 8 cylinders loosing compression is slim to none. So lets give it a "YES"

3. FUEL...... The Audi tech must have had a nice relaxing weekend, cause he hung out and did a little charity yesterday for a minute which I really appreciate. We pulled off the fuel line under hood going into the rail and checked for fuel when turning the car over... To our surprise, there was "NO" fuel. The fuel pump sounded fine. At that point we both agreed that the issue was narrowed down within the fuel pump to where fuel dumps into fuel rail.

Once the charity provided by the Audi tech was over and done, I ventured on and disconnected the OE fuel line "black" from the fuel pump and tested the fuel pump by cranking the engine over, sure enough there was fuel spoofing everywhere directly out of fuel pump..... So, as the tech and I discussed earlier, the issue would have to be a clogged fuel line & or fuel filter between pump and fuel rail. So, I went back to my shop and made up a couple fittings that would accept a 3/8" ID hose and went back to the car around 8pm which is sitting outside the dealership and quickly bypassed the OE fuel line from pump clear up to the fuel rail. To be sure, I turned the key over till the new 3/8 fuel line filled up and began squirting out the opposing end which would hook into the fuel rail. We then hooked it up and cranked the engine with "NO" fire. At this point I just threw a, "shot glass" size of fuel directly down the throttle body intake but still, "NO" engine start.

So.........
1.Ignition/spark.... YES.
2. Compression.... YES!
3. Fuel.... YES!!

Any ideas as to where this missing link is???
