Drove the S6 and S8 back to back

Just thought I would relay my opinions. The S8 is truely awsome, smooth effortless speed and luxury to boot. The drivetrain was phenomenal. If I were crazy rich I'd likely buy it for 115K. I then hopped into the S6 and I have to say I was equally impressed. I'm not saying the S6 is anywhere near the luxury of the S8 but the S6 gives little up. It felt just as quick and at bit smoother on the acceleration than the S8. I really do like the Stronic better that the ZF 8spd. You really dont need all those gears with all that torque. Anyway both achieve my goal of effortless speed and luxury. BTW my weekend toy is a heavily modified Elise with 400hp and this car feels faster.

Awesome to hear! I feel like those cars are forever out of my reach, sadly. But I will say that Audi does seriously underrate its vehicles' performance numbers. So 420 hp/405 lb-ft out of the 4.0TT is definitely on the conservative side.

For instance, he's the dyno numbers APR posts before/after their ECU upgrade. I'm assuming the numbers are at the crank.

money wise, there is about 50k different....

I would take the s8 if i got that 50k extra in my pocket
