Watsup guys,
I got my car tuned to revo stage 2 about 5 months ago with a eurocode test pipe. My car ran fine for 4 months loved it. then the last 2 weeks my exhaust started cutting out when my car would usually backfire at 4000-5000 RPM's like its losing power. Once I hit 3500-4500 rpms my car tries to backfire and does but doesnt sound right, then the CEL comes on blinking. I've gone to my tuning shop and he scanned the car with Codes 16627-16828-18832,(diverter valve, fuel pump) he said it might be your spark plugs but my car only has 38k miles and should be good untill 55k. Before I take this to Audi, what could possibly be the problem or what does this sound like?

Well, I would definitely start with checking the diverter valve (get a piston style one if you dont have one already), then check the HPFP to see how your cam follower looks.

After those things, I would probably buy all new coil packs and maybe plugs just for good measure, but if you are on a budget, then try checking out the plugs to see if they are gapped correctly and have good looking electrodes. Then swap the coil packs to different cylinders and see if different in cylinder misfire codes come up.

I agree with CorneliusRox. Definitely check your follower. Also, I was having somewhat similar issues which turned out to be 2 bad coil packs. I also swapped plugs in the process of trouble shooting. Check the gap on the ones you have now. I ran mine at .028. I now run copper NGKs (check my sig) with new coilpacks and the car runs great.

I am at 96k on stock coils and NGK7's and I run .045" gap with no issues at all, but most run .032" and I believe they come out of the box at .028"

Wow, that's pretty damn good for coils. I had mine replaced a while back by the dealer under TSB. But a few months ago, I started having random misses on hard acceleration, eventually I scanned with VAGCOM and there were some stored codes for misfires in 2 cylinders. Replaced all coils with newest revision and car has been running great. I probably could have kept my NGK Platinums, but at the time it was cheaper to try the coppers first to see if it was a spark plug issues. I honestly don't remember if I gapped the copper ones, but I definitely had gapped the platinum ones to .028 based on some issues I was have a while back with surging. Gapping them to .028 after Stg II tune fixed the surging issue for me.

Platinums are junk anyways. I see you have Iridium's now, stick with them! I use them in my car and bike and you cant beat them. Almost as efficient as copper but last forever!
Also, if you gap your plugs some more, you will feel a power difference. My car will rev faster now.

Sorry that was my mistake, I used to run Iridiums, not Platinums. But now run copper. Going to stick with copper for a little while to see how they do. Down side is having to replace them more often, but they are cheap enough. My issue with the gap initially, I think, was that the spark was being 'blown out'. At least that's the theory. But now that I have reliable coilpacks, maybe opening up the gap is OK.
