Hi All,
I am new here at Audizine because of my trade from my beloved MKIII Jetta to a B5 A4, but I am not new to the VAG (vortex) community. Anyways I am a transplant to the VAG community from the Honda world and the world of hondata & wideband tuning. This is my first VAG turbo car, I am learning a ton quick, so my head tends to get in the wrong place occasionally, please bare with me and excuse my ignorance.

Now some information about the car by what I was told from the previous owner.
00 B5 A4 Quattro 1.8T
Stock ATW block ?
AEB head
SAI delete
Auto ECU (ATW, AEB?)with C2 Race Tune (was told auto ECU converted to 5 speed)
Still DBW
ECS Race N75 Valve
Converted to fixed TB tensioner
2.5 Cat back Exhaust
Silicone no name TIP & intake piping (looks to be good quality)
light weight flywheel ( he couldnt remember what lb, from experience feels smooth and cant be much lighter than stock )
New clutch ( he said stage2 puck type, feels good to me)

Ordered to be installed soon.
Raceland Coilovers (Dont hate [:D]) (Installed)
New front axles (Installed)
Snub Mount
Forge 007 DV (not the best choice I know now, lube every oil change noted)
3' to 2.5' down pipe
19 x 8.5 AMG SL 55 wheels (already have, being powder coated)
225/35/19 tires

Debating between FMIC & or new ECU/tune depending on what would help the most with what I currently have.

I also own VAG-COM

And Pics, Because everyone loves Pics [race]

The car runs very well except for the issues below. On a cold night it will spike around 21PSI boost and will slowly go down to 13PSI as the RMP's rise.

Current Issues....
16795 - Secondary Air Injection System
P0411 - 35-00 - Incorrect Flow Detected
I know this can be coded out with a tune, or use the proper resistor to trick the ECU. I can also pass emissions by clearing and getting it checked with enough readiness, but I would prefer to get this to go away the correct way.

16716 - Knock Sensor 2 (G66)
P0332 - 35-10 - Signal too Low - Intermittent
17964 - Charge Pressure Control
P1556 - 35-10 - Negative Deviation - Intermittent
17963 - Charge Pressure
P1555 - 35-10 - Maximum Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
The car will go into Limp Mode if I do a long to redline 3rd to 4th gear pull.
This is my main concern with the car & tune. I am hoping it is all related to the N75 Valve, I have a C & F Valve lying around I think (will check tonight) that I plan on testing this weekend as well.

00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Front Left (G47)
35-10 - - - Intermittent
I plan to swap the sensors around Saturday to see if indeed it is just the sensor and not the ABS module.

Ok now I will get to the questions and to where I need everyone's help.
Please before I get flamed for not searching, obviously I have done a lot, and I am sure I have missed a lot also. If you have nothing nice or helpful to say please just say nothing at all.

1. Is there an easy way or place to look to see exactly what Block I have? Is 058 or 06A the only two 1.8T blocks? I found some info in the "Displacement Thread" but hard to interpret whats what.
2. How can I tell if the Intake Manifold was converted to AEB as well, does it matter (better flow?)?
3. What to search / how to tell what ECU I actually have?
4. Link to DIY or More Information on Transmission/Center Dif/ Rear-End service intervals & mtn. (maybe I suck at searching but couldnt find much)
5. Mainly because I want the SAI coded out, would getting an auto AWM ECU (from maybe k0mpresd or someone else) having the SAI coded out, and adding Wide Band 02 be a good idea for my current setup? I have seen a lot on this but it really became confusing to what worked and what didnt. All the situations I came across were not close to my setup. ( I could be way off base here )

The first place I look for DIYs is here
http://www.audidiy.com/b5a4.html
There is also the subsection to this forum, most are similar or the same. I like the first because of how it is organized.

I would suggest getting a wideband adapter and an 01 ecu. You can have that ecu flashed and tuned just like the others, but it supports bigger turbo applications a bit better. I hope this kinda answers a question or two.

I'm not sure how you feel about that boost gauge being where it is at, if not, and you have the money to spend. I would suggest this maybe, I think it is a great idea and wish I could run it on my car.

Mostly, WELCOME! I transplanted to b5's from vw as well. Miss my car. Best of luck with this one!

Stop redlining it...?
Hey now...... Have you not heard a redline a day keeps the carbon away??? :)
In all seriousness I do not redline often or drive very hard, but IMO when the time comes to do so it should not have issues if it was actually running properly.

I changed the N75 valve out last night and seemed to help the driveability of the car. I didnt get a chance to try and see if it will go into limp mode or to clear the codes. I will be doing that tonight.

Anyone have help with finding out what IM I have, and if there are any differences between the auto and the MT IM?

Still getting limp mode above 5k RPM, as well as the same 3 codes, P0332,P1556,P1555 ... I am going to try and see if it is just a boost leak but I doubt that is it.. I am leaning towards there being an issue with the tune. At 2.5K RPM The car will spike to 20-22PSI boost then taper down around 10 as the RPMs rise. To me this is odd, the only conclusion I can come up with is the turbo is spooling too fast too early, getting to hot and running out of breath. I should be doing the down pipe install next weekend and hope this will maybe help the turbo be more efficient.

Any thoughts?

Wheels: 19 x 8.5 ET43 adding a 5MM Spacer rear and the stance should be perfect.
Tires: 225/35/19

Front has a good stance and I do not get any rubbing at full lock after rolling the fenders and doing circles in a parking lot to let the tires rub away some of the fender liner (was a lot of fun :) ).

Measure the bore hole after taking the cap out, then find appropriate size center cap on ebay with 4 rings on it.

I already know they are 75mm... An Audi symbol on an AMG Mercedes wheel doesnt seem to fit for me, its like putting a BBS center on a Miro wheel.... I thought about AMG centers but I dont know.... I might just paint them the same color of the wheel, but they are starting to grow on me.

Edit: I see you changed the n75. Is it stock now? The two charge pressure control DTCs are due to over boosting.

You have an ATW intake manifold because there is no mount for the throttle cable. You should get an AEB intake manifold if you have an AEB head because the ports will be the same size. They changed to smaller ports in 2000 because it keeps the air velocity higher, promoting better VE at lower RPM, which means more torque. AEB heads are popular in the BT crowd as they flow more in top end.

The block is easy enough to tell because 06As had an internal water pump and the 058s have external.

As for the ECU, scan it with vagcom and it will tell you the part number. You don't need to convert to AWM to delete SAI, but you won't be able to do much with a tuned ECU. Companies like to prevent reading over OBD.

CatBed, [up] thanks for the great info, I was afraid that the IM was not matched for the head, I am glad you are able to confirm that for me! Anyone that has an AEB IM pm me, I am now looking...

Yes I put the N75 back to stock, and also installed a Forge P007 DV (I know to service it). It runs much better now, and I rarely get limp mode. On the rare occasion that it does it appears to be because of a spiky over boost from demanding full boost too quickly. It seems if am a little smoother with the throttle it will allow it to build boost at a more consistent rate and will not go limp. All this just makes me think it is a sub par tune....
