Looking into getting 19's, i fitted a set tonight that looked good but they rubbed on the control arms a lot in the back. anyone know what to do to run 19s for a fitment like this? or if you know his wheel specs including offset that would be awesome too. although i think theyre 20". thanks!

Airbags (or really low on coilovers).
Some pulling.
Stretched tire.

well im on bags, and i fitted 19x8.5 with a high ish offset tonight and when aired out the tires rubbed a lot on the upper control arms in the rear, im mostly concerned about what the right offset would be and how to get the front lower..

Well you probably need spacers. Maybe around ~ et30 or lower.

true, tomorrow im test fitting a set of 19x8.5 et 45 with a 15mm spacer so we'll see if et30 is good!

I am in the same boat, and did some asking around on vortex Check this out (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5921041-19-s-on-B5) on page 2 I hacked a thread started by someone else, but it had a lot of good info.

I have some AMG wheels 19x8.5 ET 43, I ordered 225/35/19's yesterday so I should have them mounted this weekend. From what I have found a final ET of 35 is a good number to avoid rubbing but keep good stance. I will let you know the outcome Monday hopefully.

awesome man! are you static or bagged? thanks for the link, im going to look through that now. and yeah i was thinking a low 30s offset since i want to get 19"x9". probably would be going 215/35/19 for tires though.

I am static on coilovers... I personally am not a fan of "stretch" as to why I did not go the 215 route, but I have heard that it makes a big difference with a larger (smaller#) offset. Since your on air you need to test fit with the best on both worlds, when your at stop height, and at your driving height. Remember the lower the ET# the more poke you get.

yeah i dont really want a lot of stretch so i think 215 on an 8.5 isnt crazy, and if i go 9 ill get 225's. yes offset is a big factor here, the problem with the wheels i test fit last night is that the tires were too big (235/35/19) and the offset was too low. the tires were rubbing hard on the upper control arms. aired up it was fine, but once they started to tuck the rubbing began. im thinking a 19x9 et32/34 will still tuck when aired out.

One other thing i need to figure out is going lower in the front.
