I have brand new springs/shocks in rear, but I want to lower. I dont want to put coilovers because I dont have the money. What other options do I have? Thanks!

You need to either purchase lowering springs, or coilovers.

look up the coilover install DIY in audiworld but instead of coilovers you will just use a spring compressor and replace the spring and not the whole assembly.
if youve got access to a lift and your pinch bolts come out then it should only take a couple hours

Don't touch the pinch bolt.

Is there another way to get the shock out? The DIY I used called for it. I was fortunate enough that my stuff up front was fairly new and it came right out.

Just remove the springs.

Maybe try cutting them out, no DIY necessary.

no spring compressors needed, just find a buddy. On second thought if you are asking how to do it then maybe you should get some...

save up and get STs for 700$ when they are on sale.

Cutting the springs can turn out to be dangerous.

Or you ca get a "cup kit" bilsteins struts and H&R spring for ~550$

There are maybe 5 sets of coilovers on vwvortex for sale for around 400.
