Finally got around to dipping my own car. Matte finishes aren't for everyone - but always worth a share.

Really nice! Maybe this has been asked before....but how well will this withstand a pressure hose?

Not that this is a surprise since it is your business, but your Plasti-Dip jobs are so much better than most that I see. I think it looks great, I would like to see it on some different wheels that weren't also matte black, but overall nice smooth even finish from the pictures.

Do you ever actually spray local peoples' cars, or just sell the goods for a DIY?

We used to - but the distribution side is so demanding of staff and attention - we no longer do installations. We do however have a network of Authorized DYC Installers around the country that do the installations locally.

Cool...i have always debated getting mine done, maybe sometime down the road when i get tired of polishing and waxing before shows/meets.

It's pretty amazing how well it goes on with a good gun. Impressive stuff. That S6 needs some rear spacers or something!

That looks amazing and the finish looks so smooth!

Quick question - have you dipped the tips too or were they originally black? I saw in one of your videos you had talked about dipping the tips and was wondering cause I've been thinking about doing mine.

They were originally black. I have the tips on my (what was my, now Brad's) S4 dipped forever. It does hold up - but not easily removable.

Wow, that's not very forthcoming. popular color combo...perhaps, but they should be communicating the truth. The paint is white.

We had the final buyer contact us regarding how to care for the dipped surface, how to clean it, etc.. so I know they are communicating with the customers. He got a sick exhaust system.

Not to get off topc or thread jack - but why the sudden sale? What twisted your arm from the 6 to the R8? Wow, wish I could enjoy an S4, S6, and now an R8! Damn.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the S6. I actually just got it tuned and sounding right. The R8 came across the table and the price/timing was just too perfect. The S6 is beautiful and quick, but the R8 is just vastly superior from a marketing perspective. The R8 will make an impact on my business that the S6 just simply couldn't have made.

Who wouldn't want to upgrade if they could?

Great choice and driving one should be vastly superior too.

Now I have to monitor the R8 section now for your mods. Can't wait to see some plasti dippin' on an R8 and hopefully some engine mods - maybe a supercharger, tune, exhasut.....videos when you do! Enjoy!

I am currently in the middle of watching your video on dipping your S6 and I was wondering why you didn't take the badging off when you sprayed it. I don't have a detailing or body work background, just guys I know. They usually take every badge off and paint my car when doing work, in case the letters get knocked off or fall off for any reason.

Great stuff Fonzie, watching all your videos on the site now as I'm very much considering dipping my A6 to the matte black. Already reached out to the closest certified "dipper" for some details!

I might have missed it but how much does it cost, ball park, to do something like this?
