Hey!

So I sold my B7, needed something cheaper for a while, getting a new house :) I wanted a VW MK4 with a VR6, that's what I had before my B7. But I would’ve missed the Quattro too much hehe.

I came across this 2001 A4 V6 Quattro. Car has 145,000kms, original paint, no rust, the guy gave me all the receipts since the car was bought in 2001! Very happy so far :)

That was a nice B7. Enjoy the B5, im sure you will like it. I would recommend just keeping that thing reliable and try to not miss the boost of a turbo too much.

That's depressing going from that B7 to a B5 lol...

Nah, it's just a clean slate.

Really, how do you like going from a car with "bells and whistles" to a car that doesn't have half that?

Well I don't mind at all, I had it for 3 years. Priorities change and for now a house is more important than a car :)

I'm happy with that B5, V6 and AWD, still puts a smile on my face! And the most important part is that I have zero payments.

I guess I'm not really a "bells and whistles" kind of guy. The B5 has more than enough technology for me.

In my opinion the newer A4's don't look particularly different inside, I was sad they didn't have more "bells and whistles" when I looked at one at the dealership last year.
After that I figure there is no chance I'll ever buy a newer one, there's just nothing really "new" about that interior, for a fraction of the money of a new A4 I could put more fun custom tech into my old one. [:D]

For dd'ing the 2.8 is an perfect motor (aside from the gas milage).

I totally see your angle, I agree no payments = freedom.

Me neither, I just wanted to see his perspective. The B5 will always be timeless to me.

Hahah I guess...but if you've ever driven a B7 you know just how much better they are...especially the 2.0T's just fly...

Trust me I like B5's...I own one...but I'd trade it in a heart beat for a B7.

I went from a B5 to a Mk3 GTI VR6. And that is a fairly basic car. I love how much more fun this car is to drive. And much less complicated maintenance wise. The interior is a bit lacking, but I am taking care of bringing mine up to date and fresh looking.

I wouldn't say that a 3400 pound car with 200 hp flys.. [rolleyes]

Well now that I had both and I had to choose again between a 25k car or 5k car that are most likely the same I think I would pick the 5k one.
