Shops response to audi a4 big turbo smoking problem. 3" down pipe is choking???????

My audi a4 2.0t started smoking. Shop found that the crankcase vent valve, pressure sensor, and turbo cut off valve was bad. Then they told me the car will smoke still because its fuel that's not being burned. My 3" down pipe is no good. I don't have a true down pipe???? Wtf. I have the garret gt28 connected to an adapter then connects to a 3" kmd down pipe then the exhaust. They said that the down pipe has to connect to the turbo directly or my car is choking causing it to inject fuel at the wrong time?????? Eather I'm an ediot or that doesn't make any sense. How does connecting the down pipe to the turbo make any difference?? On top of this who besides apr makes a gt28 down pipe for b7 2.0? Eather I'm being fooled or their is something else going on with the car.

So basically every big turbo kit that doesn't have a direct bolt on down pipe is wrong?

I say they are full of shit. Shops love to talk shit to make money. Trust me I know. I used to go to shop like that till I made a friend.

yea its just a flange, wtf are they talking about.

is it blue/grayish or near black smoke? I imagine you've got some kind of PCV routing wrong with what ever piping setup was done with that install.

On the other hand if it's running richer than oprah you gotta look at something else,

What software and fueling setup do you have?

The shop is gp auto group in Maryland. I have a unitronic stage 3 flash. My car once in a while will throw out blueish white smoke, even at idle.

yea this just doesn't sound right or logical....i would just consider going to a new shop altogether, if RAI is close....go to them, they know thier shit
