Can't decide on res or non-res with the V6 - clips are few and far between on You Tube.

Cheers

I think "resonated" just means EU-compliant so you can run the car in Germany - it's essentially about 4 decibels over stock. The non-resonated is the one you want. That still should come in well under 90 DB and be legal even for strict racetracks that monitor sound.

The problem, so to speak, with Milltek is that its the most expensive exhaust setup here in North America so it gets little play compared to the others.

This and they have been jerking us all around with talk of the new version of their exhaust a couple of guys on this forum are already running.

There are a bunch of people on here with the Milltek, I chose the AWE over it because I liked the sound better. The Milltek seems to have a deeper note.

Thanks for the feedback all - this link is awesome: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/376019-PNW-B8-S4-Exhaust-Fest-2010

I am settling on a Milltek after hearing them side by side on that "Exhaust fest" - love it on my B6 and like the look of the single tip. A little pricey but the rims can wait.

I appreciate the input.

^ This. Have the non Res and LOVE it. Admittedly, I did not hear AWE in person and everyone seems to love it. However, I came from a mustang v8 with aftermarket exhaust and I wanted deepest note possible.

Thank you - btw does your Strat intake change the sound as well? I had a K&N on a VR6 and it sounded quoite nice.

Did intake prior to exhaust, so cannot comment on any effect of intake upon exhaust note. However, love the Strat intake as it unmasks supercharger whine, and the combo just sounds nasty.

I had the Milltek system with the resonated down pipes on my 2012. The system is awesome, it sounds great and you can really notice the power. I just removed the system and that night I was in the car with my wife and even she noticed that the car felt sluggish compared to having it on. The system really wakes the car up. Like stated above most dont want to spend the extra money for the exhaust but in my opinion it's well worth it.

Good stuff - I guess you get what you pay for - am ok with a bit more on the Milltek. Its been bullet-proof for 6 years on my B6. Was hoping it might beef up the V6 sound - really the only thing this car misses.

I had the non-res for about a year and a half before putting on the strat/roc-euro intake. slight change in exhaust sound for sure (throatier) but hard to pick it out with the increased whine from the supercharger. At least for my ears anyways. Awesome combo though, you will not be disappointed.

I have the full-res milltek with 034 HFC and I think it's pretty good for power and sound. I live in the GTA so if you'd like to hear it in person let me know.

noticeable power from an exhaust?

I'm curious about this. I've gone through a few different setups with a few cars...I've never felt any difference in power. But enough for a passenger to feel?

If there was a way to have a "deaf" drive test, I wonder if anyone could really tell. I tend to believe that it's the more aggressive exhaust note that makes drivers feel that there is more power, but I don't think there's much to gain with an aftermarket exhaust, at least any that can be felt.

I've been hearing that Audi did a damn good job making the stock cat unrestrictive. It is high flow from the factory. Even a catless downpipe should only get you 12 ft/lb, or about 3% more power.

Did you end up buying a Milltek system? I'm going to be in the Toronto area soon and would love to hear it in person as I should for a system myself.

Yes! ... I am getting my Milltek installed this Tuesday the 30th - along with an Alu Kreuz and sway - can't wait. Let me know what dates you are in Toronto after the 30th if you'd like. Am in Toronto mid-town & down town. Ping me directly.
Cheers,
Bryan

Listening to sound clips the Milltek is the deepest tone for these cars. Still a nice clean sound.

I went with AWE, LOVE IT!
