Required buyers: Group buy price starts at 10 buyers. Maybe if we hit 15 buyers I can drop the price of the trim to $625-600, but I don't know about that yet (so please don't hold out for it).

What is included: Full vent and MMI replacement assembly, including the carbon trim, the MMI housing, and the full working vent assembly. This will be a direct swap, plug and play.

Core deposit: Because this is a full replacement part that uses an original OEM Audi part, and not a cover, we require a refundable core deposit. This is added to the price and is refunded to you if you decide to return your original vent and MMI piece back to us. You are not required to return your vent and MMI trim, and since it retails for $390 + shipping from Audi, many people choose to hang on to their original.

"OEM" match: People often ask me how well this matches the OEM carbon atlas trim. It is very close, but not exact. There are subtle differences, mostly because the pieces are manufactured differently. An exact match just isn't possible. That being said, its a good match. We haven't had any complaints about it and we've made quite a few of these for the B8.

Lead time: I have been told it will take at least a month for an order this large just for the cores to arrive to me (however, with previous experience ordering from this vendor it is hit or miss. Sometimes things arrive quickly, sometimes it takes the full month). We can expedite the order, but then the core deposit goes up considerably and most of the savings are lost. After I get the cores, I will have to mold each piece individually, as they are pretty large and I can only fit one at a time inside my vacuum setup. Each piece will take a day or so to mold. Once all pieces are molded, I can then resume working on all of the pieces at once. These are complicated parts that are difficult to manufacture. Long story short, this will take a while. I'd guess about 6-8 weeks. I will post updates of the progress regularly. But if you're an antsy person and want something right away, its probably best that you don't participate in the group buy. I'll more than likely finish them up 2-3 at a time in every couple of days towards the end of the production run. Those that pay first will get the first finished sets.

Bingo. I'd much rather be late on parts than send out ones that weren't fantastic. We sent a few out a while ago from the original group buy back in the summer, and everyone has been super happy with them.

We do offer these for the B8s. The install is super easy, the pieces basically just pull right out. Takes 10 minutes.
