Hi folks, finally got the CEL checked out today and here is what came back from Audi. What do you folks think? Any rough estimate on how much this would cost? They cleared the light and it came back on within a minute of driving it.

Thank you!

The primary fault is that you paid the dealership $129 to scan your car. You can get a basic Ross-tech system to scan for codes for $100 as many times as you want.

It's almost a crime what these dealers charge if you ask me. http://www.amazon.com/Autel-MaxiScan-MS300-Diagnostic-Vehicles/dp/B001LHVOVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356825363&sr=8-1&keywords=maxiscan%20ms300&tag=vglnk-c1005-20

Did they, at list, cleared the codes?

Yes they cleared the codes. Light returned after a minute leaving Pfaff.
I don't see any PXXXX number other than 73AUZ? They just gave you the description of the problem, not the code? Doesn't that relate to intake flap motor?
Try stopping at auto parts store. They'll scan it for free.
Next time, just get it scanned and search or post the code in this forum. You'll get your answer.

they state no additional charge if the code returns after clearing.
go back and show them it came on, if it's the intake flap motor i think there is a recall for that.

129$?? Wtf are you high?? Loaded?? Baked??? I go to autozone for all my code needs I go in grab their free to use scanner and scan it. It's so easy and free wtf really go back and get your cash back especially if its a damn recall, they shouldn't have charged you in the first place if it is, and no code doesn't help you entirely

I see your in Toronto and don't know what you have near by like we Americans but most auto stores have a scanner you can use
Intake flap motor is one of the recall lists, but I can smell your dealer that they will find something else to charge you more.!!!
Like Rodmar said, they should perform the recall if that code/description is for intake flap motor. Do yourself a favor and stop by auto parts store, scan it, search/ask the code here. If it's intake flap motor, go back to dealer, get that replaced, get your money back.

There should be a Napa in TO, I know we have one here in Hamilton. At the very least, there are a million places in Toronto to get a code read, even on kijiji people will do it for $20
nfoman - I suggest heading over to the Eastern Canada board. I think 3/4 of them there are all Toronto Audi guys. I've gotten a bunch of codes read for a few beers from some of them there, great guys!

Last line says free diag if light comes back. Guess go back and make sure you get the code itself and not just descriptions.

What is extra dumb about this is the codes capture the mileage

Guessing you have 3.2 engine. You have a carbon build up on the intake valves causing the fuel trim faults and a broken vacuum line that goes to the intake flaps on the front of the intake. It comes from the vacuum reservoir on the right side if you're facing the car. Also the evap leak you need to know what exact Pxxxx number it is and I can help you out.

fix the broken vacuum line from vacuum resivoir to intake flaps causing flAp fault and evap fault due to no vaccum Availible AND clean your throttle body blade. Clear faults and thank me!

Yes I have the 3.2. One thing I noticed last week was when I started her up was something like carbon chips/chunks/pieces out of the exhaust. These were not metal.. to the touch it dissipates like sut or ash from a fire.

What would I use to clean the throttle body blade?

Ok folks, might have tracked down the problem. Also, got the OBDII adapter today, worked great. Got two codes, p2006 and p2007.. i assume one follows the other
http://linuxbeer.com/gallery/var/albums/auto/codes.JPG
Searched near the engine and saw a broken vacuum hose.. it turned brittle and guessing it cracked sometime.
http://linuxbeer.com/gallery/var/albums/auto/IMG_20130109_214816.jpg
Would this cause the two fault codes or is it something more?
Thanks

repair line. perform evap leak test. and possibly map sensor, have seen those go bad on 3.2s
