Hi all. Has anybody tried the Wagner Thermoquiet brake pads on their A4 B7? I'm happy with the OEM pads I've been using but these are at least half the price. I've used them before on an SUV with good results, but have no idea how they would fare on the more spirited A4. Anyone have any experience with these?

If you want cheaper than OEM, with less brake dust go with Akebono pads, many people like them and i've ran them myself on my MK4.

Thanks all for the replies. I had looked into ceramics but was concerned about having to wait for the brakes to warm up before having full stopping power, as well as quicker rotor wear. Have these not been issues for you guys?

To all the guys running the akeebonos, have you had the problem the guy is having who just made a threadthread about the them clicking and making noise? He's on his 3rd set I believe and still having issues. These are the pads I want to get but don't want ant issues.

Thanks

Ceramics are not as abrasive and aren't as hard on rotors as metallic or semi-metallic pads are, but you are correct on full stopping power, although I have never had an issue with any of the ceramics I've run, but I also don't drive my car that hard until its fully up to temp.

I just did a full brake service up front with Akebono pads and Meyle rotors and couldnt be happier! I did a lot of looking around at all the different types of pads out there (Hawk HPS & EBC Red) and finally settled on them. So far (1500 miles in) there hasn't been any sign of the clicking noise, less brake dust, and factory stopping power. Take a look at Amazon for a good price and quick delivery.
