Hello all I've owned two A4's in the past a 2007 and a 2011. I wasn't happy with the 2011 when I bought it new, it wasn't like a B7 so after a short year I sold it for a 2012 4 Door jeep wrangler. I jacked it up and put about 6k worth of mods and I realized it's not a B7 so I'm coming back!!!
I know someone who has a 2008 A4 sitting on his lot he wants $16,999. But I want some help from you guys to help me figure out if it's a good deal or not. The A4 has sline on the grill but it isn't a true sline, it doesn't hav the silver sline on the bottom door frame, or the 3 section steering wheel with sline on it. So why does this one have sline if it isn't a true sline?
The A4 only has 34,500 miles on it, it's a automatic :/ my last two were 6 speeds. This 08 is also a fwd not Quattro. It's well equipped except no heated seats :( Does someone on here know why it would say sline without it being a true sline and does this 08 with the sline have anything extra that a regular 08 without the sline logo? And what are you're thought on pricing? My friend has had it on his lot for a few months and priced it at what he bought it for because he needs to sell it.
Thanks for all the help,
Steven

I personally would keep looking. Use the search function. There are TONS of threads on "Special Edition" vs. S-Line. All 2008's has an S-Line appearance package.

So you think the price is good? And I'm not a fan of the fwd, but my 07 was fwd and it wasn't a big problem. We don't get a whole lot of snow around here anyways.

I'd say your best bet would be the forums couldn't agree more always cheap b7's on here just recently oemplus was selling their 07 a4 heavily modded rebuilt engine and tranny with 1000 miles on it with prolly 15k in mods for 21k, that's just an example of what kinda deals can be bad on az

No the price blows since its fwd, if it were Quattro and that price I'd say get on it but since its not I'd honestly keep looking. If your gonna buy Audi get Quattro enough said

OP here is a Red Ti S-Line for sale fairly local.... 2006 A4 (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/ctd/3521340805.html)
It looks like it has fairly good options, RNS-E, Bi-Xenons, Ti package, S-Line package, its a 2006 though, so not sure if you are interested. Also appears to have the broken glovebox mod from one of the photos!!
FYI - It's not mine, and I have no affiliation with the dealer, was just browsing Craigslist earlier and saw it listed.

That's the link to the Audi. I probably should have posted the link sooner so you can really see it.

Not quattro, wrong transmission = Pass.
Yeah being FWD and having that garbage tranny, no wonder it's priced where it is... and no heated seats? Shit, my Audi BETTER have heated seats, this isn't a civic!! and even half of them have them now lol -- but as said above, all the 08's will have s-line parts on them like front bumper, trunk, etc... also from my understanding they have a few upgraded internals such as newer revision cam, upgraded DV and cam follower.
2008 is the best bet as far as year, but I'd DEF go quattro if you are gonna pull the trigger on one.
S-LINE front bumper on a non s-line means he either put it there intentionally or he crashed the front end and thought the s-line bumper would look better as a replacement.
just get an S4 B7. i can find them with under 100k for $17k-$20k in my area.

Or the more-likely scenario, it's a 2008 SE.
It actually looks like an 08 special edition to me.

which means there is nothing special about it...hunt for the right options so you have a good base to build on.

I totally agree, which my first post indicated that I would NOT buy this car... but the special edition post was more directed toward C5's comment about the front bumper lol
