Hey guys the other day I had my vag com hooked up and decided to do the trans recode. I looked it up one time and found a few different codes but only could find the 00032 when I looked it up this time. Anyhow I did the recode it only took a minute and I really like how it feels now. More solid and aggressive to me. The only thing I would ask for would be more firm shifts instead of smooth shifts. Other than that I like it. Just figured id tell everyone how it was. Also looking to see if anyone can find those other codes id be willing to try them out.

Nice, I really don't know what the stock feels like anymore because josh (einschnellaudi) recoded mine about 2 or 3 months after I got it, and that's about 4 years ago.

@c5 you may have some other stuff going on but this will make it feel a little better I'm thinking. If you were in the area id see if I could help. See if anyone has a vag near by and make sure its all good.

will a vagcom be able to find small issues that dont cause a CEL? OR see if the car is performing poorly?

ive put 30k on the car so far and it never had a CEL til recently. but this hasn't changed the way it drives or shifts.
the codes i have are for both cats bank1 and 2 so im guessing it just needs spacers for the o2 sensors but i could be wrong.

anyone in the bay area want to hook me up with a vagcom scan?

Vag-com can see all mannor of codes that don't cause a CEL. Always worth getting a scan when ya have a chance just to see what's going on.

Vag can scan anything as long as the car detects the issue. It is not necessary for the MIL to be on for the car to register a problem.

BUT as far as your slow shifting goes, the 01 and below are horriblely slow at shifting. My 2.8 is granny slow. I have reset the TCM many times but no luck. All that changes is the rpm at which the car usually shifts.

^^ THIS!
i didnt realize it was an issue with the pre-facelift only.
sometimes it shifts at normal rpm's (3k-ish) and other times it flies way up 4k-5k+ witch i dont like very much.
then my flex pipe is leaking exhaust and it sounds like ass when i accelerate. makes me want a 4.2 widebody :(

but yes... if anyone in the bay area has a vagcom, especially south bay but im willing to travel. id really appreciate a scan. thanks!
