1. Does the car display tire pressure or does it show green/ red indication of tire pressure.

2. Where can you get PDF version of owners manual

3. Have you seen the underbody of the car, I don't see it completely sealed to protect from road debris unlike I observed in my BMW. I mean i expected better finish of a car expensive like this

4. I have the advanced key, to turn on the power without starting the car do I just insert the key in the keyfob, I have a tire pressure gauge to fill up air

I am sure to post more questions as I get more accustomed to the features

Thanks in advance

I'll take #4: Press the Engine Start/Stop button but do NOT have your foot on the brake. That will supply power to the car's systems but will not start the engine.

....or if you are just wanting to turn on the MMI to listen to music or watch a movie, just press down on the volume knob (MMI on/off switch)

I have manual , should i not press on clutch then ?

Alternatively cant I just insert key in ignition without pressing clutch, will that work

This is for filling up air using my tire pressure compressor

With advanced key there should be no need to insert the key. As noted, WITHOUT stepping on the brake (or clutch for that matter) press the start/ stop button to activate the ACC functions. You'll need to press at least one more time to cycle through to off, perhaps two times. Not sure on the S4 (mine isn't here yet) but my wife's Durango requires 2 presses of the start/ stop button to get back to the off position.

Yes, you only get a warning when the tire pressure falls 8-9 lbs lower than the preset pressure. You can reset that pressure using the MMI to whatever you choose. BTW, I don't care what the underbody looks like as long as there are no issues with the car. And i haven;t had any regarding lack of the underbody being sealed. Enjoy your S4, you will soon forget about BMW. If not, sell it and go back to BMW.

What year is this car? Didn't the owners manual come with the car? You should really refer to that first before asking a million questions on the forums.

TPMS on S4 is passive. Hence you don't need to pay for expensive sensors at each wheel.

But the downside is, it doesn't know what PSI you got, it only alert when you have less. So you have to manually check and adjust tire pressure first with a gauge and then go into CAR => TPMS and hit store current setting.

I set mine to 37 and it warns at around 29.

Google may be of help vs. waiting for someone to partially respond to your questions.

It wouldn't hurt to look in the manual either... I typically go through the manual of vehicles when I first get them and flag the pertinent items I'll need in the future (e.g., oil type, oil change specs, light resets, etc.). I find it has helped me familiarize myself with other features and functions I might not have found on my own too!

There's no "official" version of the manual in PDF that I've ever seen. I know some people have scanned in copies of the manual and converted them to PDFs.

After you have the pressure set where you want it. Go into the MMI and find tire pressure setting and select reset or set. Done with car not moving

Ok guys I have read the manual and come up with below questions only after reading it

1. I use a compressor for inflating tires and so I should plug it only on the 12 volt center console outlet as the manual states not to use the cigarette lighter outlet. Is there any other 12v sockets for external accessories ?

2. Can I just take out the cigrarette lighter , don't need and dont want it inside the car, I am surprised to see it as I thought latest US cars don't come with it anymore

3 do we have passenger exterior tilt mirror function in our cars because it's
Not working and as per manual available only with memory for external mirror

Thanks

1. For North American, no. In Europe there's an additional outlet in the trunk.
2. Yes, you can take it out, it won't harm anything.
3. Turn the mirror adjuster knob to the right side and put the car in reverse. If you car has that feature then you will see the right mirror tilt down.

Regarding 3...

You may need to set the tilt while in reverse. Once you start moving forward it will revert back to normal after 8 mph or so.

I was able to tilt the passenger mirror but it tilts very little , how to have it tilt more down ?

Secondly the recommended tire pressure for 19 inch is 41 psi , do you think thats bit high . I was running 32 in front and 36 rear for my BMW staggered 18" wheels

I just set my tires to that (I forget what it is off hand).

Yes by recommended tire pressure I am referring to the PSI mentioned on drivers door which states 41

Just curious if it's high for 19 inch tires

While the mirror is tilted down, use the adjuster knob to move it to your desired position. It will remember that position and return to it every time you engage reverse gear.

41 is for a full load. Here's the tire pressure page from the 2013 manual. My 2010 says the front should be 36psi front under normal loads and 33psi rear. I'm not sure why the b8.5 is now 39psi front.

You are correct. I asked AoA and they do not publish PDF versions of manuals for some reason.

I do that too and it just mutes the volume and is back on immediately when I start the car which is irritating me, want to know if I can stop it

Yeah I'd like to know that too. I can pause the song, but when I start the car again, it starts playing again. And I've read the manuals too, but you miss things and many items are hard to find. It's perfectly acceptable to ask these kinds of questions on a forum.

Thanks sir for supporting me , what I get pissed is with some smart alec will bother replying to question but won't answer it and put an adverse remark , overall this forum is great and you get answers immediately

You can change your music source to be set for an empty device (Blank SD card, jukebox with no songs stored, etc). It's a pain in the ass, but the system automatically reverts to the last used source.

+1

I have been curious about this as well. Anyone know why the normal load pressure for front is lower on 2013 as compared to previous models (39 vs 36)? It's the same suspension and tires for the most part??? the only thing I could think of that was mechanically different would be the crown diff which is a liny bit lighter, but that could not have offset the weight balance by much.
