View Full Version : Light silver metallic intro thread
Im new to the B7 forum!! I frequented the B6 sections but after being involved in an accident and not wanting to fix the car i sold it and looked for something new. I looked at many cars GTI, passat, jetta, acura tsx and B7 A4's after driving all of them i knew i couldn't move away so I found a clean B7 and i went ahead and purchased it. This will be somewhat of an intro thread which i will update as time goes by with mods and work i end up doing to the car. all feedback and criticism is welcome [up]
This was my B6 in its glory days i kept it very OEM+ and as clean as possible

I ended up selling the car as is and then i went looking for a B7. This is what i found!
Its a 2007 A4 2.0t Quattro, tiptronic with 72k miles i believe the color is light silver metallic from what i was able to research (correct me if im wrong) The car was extremely well taken care of there isn't a dent or scratch on the car! i purchased it from a local dealership but i spoke to the previous owner who was selling it private party before he traded it in and i was unable to look at the car when he was selling it himself. It was a previous CPO and was maintained at a local Audi dealer even outside of warranty! The car has some mods which the previous owner did. He had the chrome vinyl wrapped as well as the window trim. The wheels are powder coated gloss black, debadged, 15% tint all around and it is chipped with APR stage 1.

I have some future plans in mind i definitely be lowering it most likely with a good set of coil overs. then a set of wheels. but first i plan on checking out the cam follower just to make sure everything is okay there and a timing belt job is somewhere in the near future maybe around 80k miles i plan to keep it clean and simple im a huge fan of OEM+ so im not sure yet how i feel about all the vinyl wrap i was thinking about going back to chrome Audi emblems! let me know what you guys think [a4]

and only mod i have is dropped a bit on tein super street damper coilovers :)

Good, I wouldn't spend a dime on anything until you get coilovers. It totally makes a night and day difference. Then go stage 2 and you'll be off to a very happy start. It'll look very nice on the black split 5 spokes, I ran that way for a while and it looks great, you just might wanna get some spacers to stance it out some once she's lowered. As far as the vinyl wrapping? I'm personally a fan of the chrome rings and window trim... adds a nice contrast against the grille and looks amazing with window tint in my opinion.

Yeah coilovers will definitely be the first major thing i do! What exactly does stage two require in the B7? yeah i have to admit the wheels have been growing on me! I think im gonna look for some chrome rings as these actually look like they're black and not just vinyled! maybe someone wants to trade for their chrome rings? we'll see i might try that look and see how i like it.

Yerp. I live in Mill Creek up by Bothell and Everett.
You CAN run stage 2 with just a HFC or TP... of course they will re-flash you as well to eliminate the CEL but for best results I'd also add a full exhaust and upgrade your DV if it isn't already the updated version.

Yes, the re-flash is to eliminate the CEL. APR's stage 2 software itself doesn't add anymore power than the stage 1 software... it's the extra power you are gaining from the HFC/TP - which of course a TP is cheaper and will net you bit more of a gain. People are usually bias when it comes to which is better, usually whatever THEY have is what they think is the best lol

I had it lowered a bit more....but i'm on stock 17 inch rims so my car hit a pothole and my tranny subframe crossmemeber broke D:
about 300$ repair for part and labor lol
so i raised it a bit still got to go real slow on bumps and stuff but worth it lol....i need 18 inch so i can drop it and that thing wont happen again :D
i want 18 inch so i can have the same fender tire gap this one has!!! looks beautiful!

Good to hear ill keep that in mind when look for a set! i dont want anything to firm or bouncy! i definitely need to get rid of my fender gap ASAP

I am biased as well. I love how it looks when super clean. It almost looks like liquid silver. Just looks so clean! Anyway, congrats on the car, you will love it!
Also, I love how clean it looks even when it's dirty lol... atleast mine seems to always look clean haha

So another little update today! I noticed that B7's are also lacking a battery tray cover, Another thing that was available on all B6's its weird how so many things were removed!! well install is very simple and straight forward takes 2 mins! Its a big improvement under the hood, much cleaner!

Lovin the silver thread! Figured it was about time i added a lil intro for myself. So far just a DV from forge waiting on a tune from Unitronic and a ECS Testpipe in the mail. hoping to plastidip my wheels this week too.

Fog light is broke trim is broke, paint is pretty messed up and got a leak somewhere in my coolant system now too.

Obviously the rear bumper just poped back on but it is somewhat bent and was gouged pretty deep by the glass.

Place that installed it called it metallic I believe, and the front doors are 35% rears are the darkest they had.
Awdftw90 - that shouldnt be to hard to fix other then that fog piece have you tried buffing it out? it looks like that might actually help! you should start an intro thread keep us updated [up]

I wasnt sure how i felt about the blacked out rings so i did something a little different. I bought a new set of rings and gave them a brushed aluminum look instead of the shiny chrome they usually have. Im happy with how it came out! what do you guys think?

Thanks!! Yeah i used scotch brite green scouring pads! you can find them at any of your local grocery stores im sure. They make it easy and let you get between all the little crevices and give it an even finish. it does take some scrubbing though

They are ESM wheels 19x 9.5 on all corners just check out their website! they are the best looking lm reps I have seen and they look amazing on b7's
