2005 A4 B7 with 120K miles. Been sitting a week or so and then went on an airport run. Wouldn't you know it, I get to the airport and all of the sudden the car starts running strange. It's as if ther eis no power. When I put it in drive at low rpm and try to move it stalls. It would start, but it felt like the pedal couldn't generate any power. Almost as if the pedal was disconnected. Well the airport Nazi's had me towed away and I convinced them to bring me home. Got the car to start and seems to run around the block just fine, but I'm scared to go anywhere. I got a friend to hook up a scan tool and the following codes were generated with the CEL light

p0089 Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance
p0011 "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance
and
p0171 System Too Lean

I was thinking perhaps a fuel filter replacement and perhaps cam follower too? Not sure when the cam follower was done since it was purchased used, but my mechanic checked it about 5,000 miles ago and said it was fine. Same with the fuel filter.

Thoughts?

I've had my P0089 code coming on and off for about the past 7,000 miles or so in the past two months.

Seems that whenever my gas tanks drops below 1/4 tank and I'm driving more spirited, it seems to come on. I've change the fuel filter and the cam follower and it hasn't changed anything for me. Good luck to you.

There have also been a lot of threads about the P0089 code, so I suggest you search.

I wish it were that easy, but there's at least a 1/2 tank.

My 0089 code was a bad hpfp. I replaced fuel filter, n80, plugs and coil packs first. Dealer thought it was cam follower went bad- so I pulled and checked it, but it was fine. Got a new hpfp and problem solved for a while. Mine has still come on intermittently, so my next idea would be my lpfp.

As for the other code, I don't know- haven't searched for that one.

Theres another computer bot error above message..

I also had/am still having 0089 code. The real adverse problem went away after replacing low pressure fuel pump under the rear seat.
I had my fuel filter changed too at the same time. The symptom never came back, but have cel occasionaly.
I'd recommend starting by fuel pump, then fuel pump.
