Anyone add memory seats to a 2010/11 Premium Plus car?

Let's say the goal is to have the keys return seats to their previous positions and I don't need the switches on the door panel. in that case, is it just a matter of adding a controller to the existing seat motor module and wiring it up to the comfort CAN network? Can it be done without replacing the whole seat? I've seen some threads on this topic, but none for the B8 S4 Premium Plus.

According to this thread, it's possible, but it looks like it requires a trip to the dealer, to recode the ECU to recognize the new memory controller on the CAN bus.
