Hi guys, need some help.

If any of you that have a vagcom can check block 93 for me and post up what the value is, I'd really really appreciate it. It should be the "cam phase" value in particular that I need.

Thank you...

Edit: Dealer installed wrong cam position sensor turns out. So the V8 one they installed was reading cam at 8 degrees. Replaced with correct one, and its back at 0.

Anyone?

It's a simple check. just plug in the Vagcom, start the car, and at idle see what the value is.

I just had the engine swapped, and it's still showing 8 degrees.

Thanks in advance.

If I had a working laptop ([headbang]), my b7, and my vagcom handy I'd check.

Sadly I have none right now...

should be 0 at idle (IIRC).

Mine showed 9 when started, went down to 7 after warm up , duty cycle around 20 %

It stays at 7*kw even while driving.
What exactly do those values mean?

I must say my car runs pretty rough.

Well mine shows 8 KW on the new engine, and the old engine showed the same. Dealer said should be close to 0, with most cars showing between -2 and +4. ECU can compensate up to -10 +10 supposedly.

Just trying to figure out if this is right/normal.

The cam phase is the cam alignment relative to the crank...

Shiro, did you have the TSB on your ECU performed at the dealer for the reflash?

I found some good info in this thread, it's B5 S4/RS4 but they point out a few causes and solutions.

That's why my cable and laptop always stay in the car, I never know when I need it. It actually saved me a few times.

I've read that article before. So I have a newish engine, new timing belt, tensioners, etc, new cam chain, tensioner, adjuster, cam/crank sensors, etc. and it still reads 8. That's why I was curious what everyones reads.

My cable is at work, but +or- 5 at idle is preferred but you have to more than 12 (iirc) to set a fault

Bump Bump

Also, any of you K04 or KOR guys have any EGT logs? Uni, APR, GIAC, Maestro, etc...

I can only tell you EGT while normal driving/cruising cause I cannot do pulls.
I get anywhere between 550-650*C

It would be nice if we could get about 10-20 people here with VAG-com or other scanning tools and get different logs just to see what's normal, diagnose problems, understanding normal operation specially for fueling and others of course.
Anybody knows by any chance what are the two different temperature readings for CAT in VAG-com? I forgot the blocks, I'll post them later but my VAG-com was reading two different values.

One of them is calculated EGT, the other is actual.

I think block 34 or 38 (can't remember, and my car is sitting at a certain shop still, so I can't check) is the one with actual egt..
