was replacing uppers. apparently i opened the slot a bit too wide to get one upper out. i knew i cracked it. i tried to use a clamp to slowly put it back... then BOOM. just wanted to post for everyone to laugh at me. [=(]

That's when you hope against hope and tell yourself yeah, ok, it's cracked a bit but I'll just clamp it back and it should be ok.... But you know it ain't so! Sorry man. Sucks!

anyone know if b6 part is same as b7? i'm not finding part numbers easily.

I am 95% they are- wish I could give you a definite. I was working on my in laws b6 (hubs/brakes) and I am almost certain they are the same as ours

Thank you for the confirmation. I ordered one off ebay. Mine is passenger side. This is how my luck has been going.

Yuk that sucks......I have two cars and I'ven never had to spread either of them to get the upper control arms.

I had my pickle fork maxed out. I'm sure the beating I put on the large long bolt didn't help things. Had use alot of heat.

I cracked my passanger side too. Mine didnt come off though. Link to the ebay one you bought?

And i also tightened that bolt too tight a while ago and snapped the bolt in half. So the thing can take a squeezin.

it was a used part, i found another one... picture is of driver side so i'd question him if you buy it..

it was a used part, i found another one... picture is of driver side so i'd question him if you buy it..

be careful, i snapped mine! make sure the lower control arm is fully seated before tightening!!

Are those Koni FSD with Eibach prokit?

I have the same and I did crack my driver knuckle assembly as well when putting it together.
