Happy Thanksgiving Everyone firstly.

I was driving back home to UCLA today from Lone Pine, CA and I was in Kern County. The roads were empty at it was before 7AM and not a single soul in sight on straight roads. I was being stupid and I should not have been doing this but I was pushing my rental car to the limit, doing more than 110MPH on a 65 Limit zone.

Soon thereafter I saw the siren lights and pulled over. The cop asked me how fast he thought I was going. I said 100. He said 112 and wrote me up for just that, 22348B infraction clocked by radar.

He asked to see my license and registration and I pulled out my International License issued by my home country. He said I had to have a California license and after a little debate he took my license. Just so you know, as long as you are not a resident in CA, DMV allows you to drive in CA with an International License.

He took down my particulars and gave me the citation. I just want to know what my options are right now.

I might want to buy a car in the near future and I dont want a super high price floor for my insurance. I also do not want to drive all the way down from UCLA to the middle of the stupid Mojave desert for a court appearance in the middle of the school week.

I admit it was my fault. But I want to move on and I would never think of doing something like this again - lesson learnt! Please help me [:D]

If I can add something, I do not think the 30 day suspension applies to me since there is no way CA can suspend a license issued by a foreign country. I might be very wrong on this though.

I think you need to hire a traffic ticket attorney...

I used these guys for a ticket and i won my case. http://www.traffic-ticket-attorney.com/

For now, take very detailed notes of what exactly happened that day and exactly what words you said.

Thank you for the option but I really wanna conserve my precious finances until I know for certain that I absolutely need a lawyer.

Did you join this forum just to ask for help? You don't own a car?

Maybe try to contact your home country's consulate and tell them your license was confiscated? Maybe they can assist...
