I found a few different places that appear to be competent enough to do this.. I'd like to hear your experiences, and what you spent. I'm looking to get my Avant wrapped this winter.

Pics are always favorable! [:D]

You can try this guy. He did my window tint on my S4 which turned out great. I have seen him do some wraps on spoilers and roofs that looked really clean. He works on all types of exotic cars as well. Very friendly and all around nice guy. And his prices are very reasonable. Never hurt to contact him and see if he does the full wrap on cars.

For 2500-3500, buy another car for winter.

Very well said, I agree completely.

What if.. and this is hypothetical, what if I just want to change the color of my vehicle.. What If I'm just looking for referrals? What if I don't mind spending the dough?

Lets stay on topic, anyone else have a good experience with anyone in or around the Bay Area?

Lyle does the best work in the bay area for vehicle wraps, or wrapping practically anything you want for that matter.

That's when you usually get your car repainted for the same cost :).
Just giving you a hard time. I am also thinking about wrapping my roof black but I am probably going to do it myself since it's just the roof.

I left messages for both referrals in here. Hope to hear back from them soon.. getting the itch for an early X-Mas present to myself! The GF just got a TDI Sportwagen, so now it's my turn!

Lyle is going to quote you around $6k, which is absurd.

6k, I'd get a VERY exceptional paint job.. That is absurd, but I'll wait to hear back from him to see. Three days and counting now with VM..

I don't trust my own vinyl installation skills. But thanks, I can get a close enough idea of cost.. now to find someone to do it. Both referrals have gone cold, the Rommel fella no longer does wraps.

Call James, here's his website below, he did my hood awhile back with the 3M carbon vinyl, not sure if he's willing to travel to SF though, but he did my hood for $70 and that was with tip "not including the vinyl, bought mine through Amazon.

he also doesnt seem to like wrapping things that arent the easiest thing in the world either.. i went in to get a quote from him for wrapping my mirror housings and he told me that the contours of the mirrors make it "too hard" to wrap .. one week elapses and i see pics of a different B8 with wrapped mirrors... poor experience with lyle [down]

Yeah, that dude seems to just take easy jobs from people with more money than brains. When I lived in England, I talked to the company that wrapped all the cars that ran the Gumball 3000. We're talking about Ferrari's, Lambos, and really rare stuff like a Jaguar XJ220. Those guys wanted around $2K for a top-notch job.

John at John Wolf Racing just gave me an outstanding quote, and based on a few emails it sounds like he knows what he's doing. He uses 3M products and mentioned the expected life span of the vinyl, as well as worst case scenario what can happen. I'm definitely gonna have him come up and give a more accurate quote and will most likely go with him when I get my avant wrapped. Hell, I may just get my R32 wrapped too for the hell of it.

i that from personal experience or just a guess? because form what i know i would never go back to wrap, tried both on my friend's car, plastidip gets my vote. If dipped correctly it is as good as a wrap if not better and cheaper.
