Was reading an article on TT RS http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonfogelson/2012/10/30/2012-audi-tt-rs-test-drive-and-review-the-power-to-surprise/
Has interesting stats on power to weight ratios:
TT RS - 9.18
Lamborghini Aventador - 4.96
Porsche 911 - 8.69
Lexus IS-F - 9.09
Porsche Cayman - 11.31
Subaru BR-Z - 13.81
Smart Pure Coupe - 25.83
and (not in article but to keep this relevant)...
our B8 S4 - 11.5

Excuse my ignorance. 9.18? How is that translated? What does 9 stand for & 18?

Pounds per horsepower. 9.18 x 360 (I think that's the claimed HP for the TT-RS = 3,304.8.

It's worth bearing in mind that though the 3.0T is RATED at 333hp (which matches perfectly the 11.5 lbs/hp figure with a weight of 3840 lbs), it actually produces more like 360+hp, making the true figure 10.66 lbs./hp.
As far as I'm aware, Audi is the current leader in underrating their engines' output.... ;-)

The pounds/hp chart goes something like this:
over 15 = Not fast enough to be fun
12-15 = Sporty and probably handles well, but not really fast
10-12 = Starting to feel a little shove in the back
8-10 = Fast enough to make no apologies to anybody. Probably all you really need on the street.
6-8 = Current definition of truly fast car
below 6 = Current gen Supercar/Hypercar, silly scary fast, soon to be crashed on You Tube video.
1.5 = F1 car
0.13 = Top Fuel Dragster

Nissan plays the underrating game pretty well with the GTR.

True. Each motor is hand built, so each one will dyno different.
a stock pre 2012 dynos at around 430ahwp
on a side note... b8 s4 SC is underated, so is the 03-04 cobra SC... maybe its a supercharger thing

So for those that are tuned running about 450hp - that number is more like 8.53? "Fast enough to make no apologies to anybody. Probably all you really need on the street." fast? [drive]
