US military Ingolstadt delivery?

I am in the US Air Force and stationed about 4 hours from Ingolstadt. I have an S4 on order and the dealer here insists that I am not able to pick up my car in Ingolstadt. Instead, I must pay $895 delivery plus ~$300 port stocking fee. This seems a little silly to me. Aside from the money savings, I would prefer to take delivery of my car at the manufacturer. I think it would be cool to tour the factory/museum, and all the perks you get with the European delivery program. A message to the AoA customer experience mailbox has not been returned (over two weeks). Any military customers out there familiar with purchasing in Germany?

Read through the FAQ, there are certain time restriction when it come to European delivery. The factory is still open for tours whether or not you are picking up a car.

Since U.S. civilian, military, and diplomatic Euro pickups ultimately end up in North America, the following quote from the Audi US Euro delivery materials applies:

"The costs and fees associated with overseas transportation, customs, duty, clearance, storage, handling and insurance are all included in the purchase price of all Audi vehicles sold under the Eurpean Delivery Program, provided the vehicle is returned to a drop off location as specified in the program requirements. Destination charges still apply for final transport to your dealer".
