I picked up my 2013 Monsoon Gray S4 on Halloween. What a great car. I've been driving a 2003 Evo VIII for the past nine years.
My first impressions of this car are all positive. The ride is tight, but not harsh. It has good power, but needs a tune to unleash the real potential.
Coming from the Evo I have to get used to the extra weight and the diminished road-feel. I did spring for the B&O sound system and as an audiophile I can say that the system is very, very good.
I'm happy to join the Audi family and look forward to many miles of driving fun!
Now I just need to figure out how to include pics within the post.

I went with DSG, I've had manual for over ten years and ready for a change, especially in traffic.

Nice ride! Monsoon Grey is the fastest color, ya know, even if it is a DSG. [drive]

Welcome to the community man! I too was a 2003 EVO VIII owner, did a bunch of mods to that ride (got it up to 550 AWHP with a 100hp shot of nitrous). It got to the point where it wasn't really street-able. So I sold it and went to a more refined luxury car for a while with the Infiniti G series cars (loved the luxury aspect, but REALLY missed the pure performance of the EVO).

I've only had my 2013 S4 for a couple weeks now and I have to say that for me, this is the PERFECT car. It has all the things I loved about my EVO, and none of the things I didn't like. A perfect balance of luxury and performance (once set up properly of course with a few bolts-ons and a tune). What all did you do to your EVO? Any pics of that you can share? What are your thoughts / plans for the S4?

thedollardoctor, I read your post the other day and understand your path all too well. I love driving the Evo for it's precise handling and excellent road feel. But it lacks some creature comforts that have become more important with age! The Evo is noisy (full exhaust doesn't help [:D]), no cruise control, no digital displays and manual cabin temp controls. I modded the heck out of the Evo, but kept it very streetable since it was my daily driver. I had the stock turbo, Injen intake w/upper and lower IC pipes, GFB Blow-off valve, Hallman manual boost controller, adjustable cam gears, Spark-Tech ignition system, 264 cams, Walbro 255 fuel pump, full exhaust w/hi-flow CAT, Tanabe coil-over suspension, Cusco rear sway bar, carbon fiber rear tower strut brace, Works Croxx plate, Hawk HPS brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, boost gauge, and custom engine tuning.
I read an article in Road and Track awhile back that stated the S4 is an Evo for grown ups! That's when I knew what my next car was going to be! I am still getting use to the S4 and how it feels/handles. So far I am quite impressed with the power and handling, which are excellent for a bone stock car. I am definitely not going to go wild with mods on this car...but it really needs a tune to get the most out of the engine. I will most likely upgrade the sway bars and add the Alu Kruetz from Eurocode. Other than that I will wait and see for awhile!

Right on man, your EVO mod list is VERY similar to what mine was. Except I went with the 272 cams (part of why it wasn't as street able) and a larger aftermarket turbo, tubular exhaust manifold and custom made intake manifold, also the 100hp shot nitrous of course. It was a monster. But SO much fun to drive!

So far my biggest "complaint" if it can be called a complaint, is the body roll with the S4. My next plan (now that the intake and exhaust have been upgraded) is sways, end links, and the Alu Kreuz, I think after that ill be really happy with the car! At least while I await the Stage II Pulley upgrade and tune this car needs to truly unleash the beast! Aside from that, 19" wheels, a slight drop on aW adjustable springs and lighter rotors and upgraded breaks and ill have my PERFECT car exactly where I want it. Fully street able and respectably fast and nimble.

Again, welcome to the community and please feel free to reach out for any assistance with anything.
