Allocations

Hello, just wondering if anyone can provide me with details on how Audi Allocation works. I placed an order for a new 2013 Audi TTS for my wife a little over a month ago at a Penske dealership. Traded in our Lexus which they cut a check for and still no allocation yet. How long does this process take and why has it been so long without any allocation or update. I figured Penske being a large nation wide dealer they shouldn't have any issues with allocation. Any info would be great, dealership hasn't been so helpful with providing any info.

As I understand it, the dealership is allotted a certain number of cars, (individual models) based on their previous years sales. They get a monthly allotment. So a large volume dealer would get more S4s and TTS than a small dealership. If they have already taken orders for their monthly allotment, Audi will not accept another order from them for that specific model. Unfortunately, dealerships are not always forthcoming when it comes to letting the buyer know about availability. BUT, once you do order a car, you can walk away at any time and get your deposit back. Perhaps you can contact your dealer and see if they can find another Audi dealer might have an allotment and have them order the car for you and then do a dealer trade. Not sure how your pre trade of the Lexus might complicate things.

The TTS has a long wait. My sister waited 3 months from the time her order was placed until the order was allocated and confirmed. Then it was another 2 months until she got the car. She ordered the car from one of the largest Audi dealers in Canada. The salesperson kept her updated but they said that the TTS has a notoriously long wait time due to the small production numbers.

Sounds like this is the Audi dealership in Warwick? That's where I got my S4...it took about 2 weeks for them to allocate a spot for my car...I placed an order at the end of June, and Audi officially received the order from the dealership in the middle of July. After all was said and done, I received the car the first week of September...but then again this was for the S4. Dunno about the TT

There are a few up here that they can't GIVE away and they are being discounted.Really? The 2013 TTS? When my sister got hers they did a dealer search and there was nothing. Every dealer she went to all told her the same thing "It'll have to be factory ordered." so that's what she ended up doing.

Difference perhaps between the US and Canada in terms of availability.
