Thanks so much the the person who left me with a dent on my drivers side quarter panel while I was at work tonight! And seeing how I park in a secure parking lot, I'm furious that its someone I work with!

If it's someone you work with, it shouldn't be that hard to find out who?

It's happened to another co-worker of mine and to date, no justice.

Correct, half the work is pretty much done. Good Luck.. [up]

How did you get a dent so high up the panel?Drive around the parking lot after everyone is at work, and look for what kind of car/ suv could make such a dent, and you have narrowed your search. Also, they must have parked in reverse, for their drivers door to hit you up back there. So, look for cars that park that way and you have narrow your seach even more.

Weird thing is that I was backed in and there was no one parked on that side of me. Damnedest thing. All I know is that the it wasn't there when I parked.

Just had the same thing happen.. not in a private parking lot though. Had it fixed with paintless dent repair, they work magic and will be able to take that out no problem for 80-130 probably

Looks like the kind of thing where you were hit by the rear hatch door of an SUV that swings to the side instead of up. Like an old style CR-V. Or one where the rear spare tire mount needs to be swung to the side to gain access to the rear.

Good thought. Add a Jeep Liberty to that list.

Its on a body line.. PDR is going to be really tough. I went throught the same thing on my 11 STI when it was a month old. People suck!

Yeah...PDR likely won't touch it with a dent in the crease like that.

Any cameras covering that area? Find that SOB and make them pay for it.

That's a pretty minor dent, if the pdr tech had some experience that shouldn't be an issue. Just search dent time on YouTube, there are dents very similar to that or worse that have been repaired.

No, but unfortunately I'm a regular customer. As soon as it's on a crease they either refuse to do the repair or they proceed and the results are not great. I've had a couple dings on a crease that ended up going to the body shop.

Agreed with most. Paintless dent repair should take care of it with no visible effect.

It may sound funny but I did (by mistake) something similar to mine few months ago by trying to get my bag with my work laptop in the car (17" Dell laptops are heavy :))

I know it does not help but someone may have hit your car with a heavy bag and may have not even realized it ... Women tend to be very good @ that exercise.

I've experienced the exact same scenario with a ding on a crease of my B7 the PDR guy knows that im freinds with the body shop owner and he wouldn't even attempt it he said the paint would eventually crack.

I was thinking PDR but since its on the line I'm a little skeptical. I have been considering all types of scenarios oh how this could have happened. I think I'll give everyone a blanket party at work...just to be sure.

I'll check with a few shops in my area tomorrow and see what happens.

Yikes... sucks to see these things happen! one of my biggest fears when I park in public. I'm amazing how careless people are with their cars and around others.

I was a the grocery store the other week with the loaner Audi provided me while my S4 was in the shop, a brand new 2013 A4 with 30 day tags. I come out of the grocery store and see an older man with his shopping cart right near the A4, as I walk up to him he's looking around like he can't find it car, and his cart is pointed directly at the A4. As I get closer I see he is about to lean the cart up against the A4, so I unlock the car so the lights would come on and I pop the truck. He quickly moves the cart.... his car is right next to the A4! He just wanted to lean the metal cart up against the A4 while he unloaded it in his E class Merc!!! F'n lazy people... he didn't want to lean it against his car but wouldn't mind leaning it up against a brand new one!

Not necessarily tough for someone who knows what he's doing.

PDR, no problem.

This guy knows what he's talking about. His PDR guy took care of a 12" long crease that when through a bodyline on my B7 in about 15 minutes. Looked as good as new.

Some people are just assholes, 2-3 months back I stopped by the mall for like 15 minutes, in and out, come to the car and there is a dent right by the door handle, how was it possible to put a dent there I have no clue, someone must have hit it with something. PDR worked for me.

Same here [:D] At work I got the 3rd floor all to myself and considerable parking space at apartments as well (5 floor garage).

that sucks big time. looks like you got a bad infestation of PARKING LOT NINJAS at your work. i had that happen to me in my secure work parking lot TWICE on previous car (one door ding, one back fender dent). STUPID PARKING LOT NINJAS!

Ugh. Came to my car after work today to find one ding around the same size as yours on the rear passenger side. Less then two months since the car left the lot and now its bruised. Second incident in less then 3 weeks at my work's private parking lot.

How much did you pay and how did you get it repaired?
Thanks.
