I kept my car stock for mostly a year but upon driving about 15k in that first year it turned out that I needed a new set of tires. Originally had the Pirelli Cinturato P7s with the stock 18" wheels. I have always been a huge fan of the 19" Ti wheels so when a friend offered to sell me his I bought them in a heartbeat. It was a deal I couldn't refuse. So now my favorite 19" wheels meant I had to buy 19" tires. Got another crazy deal so I bought the Dunlop Sport Maxx GT in 255/35/19. Upgrading the wheels was the first mod.
Dunlop Impressions: First let me say that I liked my stock Pirelli tires. No complaints. I liked the wet and dry handling, cornering was tight but treadwear left a lot to be desired, IMO. Going from 18" - 19" I do get a little more road feel probably due to the lower profile tire. Road noise is the same. The tread pattern is very aggressive and has a cool looking sidewall. Cornering is a little more stable but I haven't really pushed it because I feel I should break them in for 500 miles first. Overall, I'm pleased with the Dunlops. Pics of the wheels and tires below.
Coming soon... plastidip the front grill, tinted windows and a very subtle spoiler for the trunk lid. Maybe some spacers and an intake as well. For now I am doing mostly cosmetic mods. No go fast goodies yet. I drive fairly aggressively and don't need repair headaches right now. But I have my eye on the Stasis tune with a warranty. So that may happen soon.
Sorry for the bad pics the outside lighting sucked. I used my cell phone and the pics came out much better than my high tech camera. I guess I should learn how to use it. If I get better pics I will post them.
