Hey guys,

I know there are plenty of posts out there regarding changing the interior lights to LED's. Curious if anyone has feedback on what brand they prefer (fitment, brightness, etc). I see ECS has the Ziza kit, is this any good? Also did anyone buy the tool kit to remove the lights?

I used eBay bulbs. All match and no errors. Paid like $30.

I spent half the money of the kits and am happy. See my build thread in my sig for the post with all the lights I used.

I posted a thread like this a few weeks ago and got lots of good responses. i went with drivtechonline led's and they are incredibly bright and just a little whiter than the bluish oem footwell lighting. i'm very happy with them, simple to install as well.

AFAIK the interior lights have no "warnings" so you can use whatever you want.

^ the only "issue" is that the ecs kit is 2x more $ than at least 3 other reputable kits out there that are just as bright, if not brighter :)

Do the ones from ECS match the footwell lights? I need to get on this mod!

The stock lights seem bright enough for me. I would rather have some "romantic" mood lights for my dates when they get in the car hah

I did the tunerdome LED light kit and very happy with them. Try searching around AZ for tunerdome for more opinions on their kit.

I'm in agreement with you here. I'm all about cool lighting and I do like the white LED lighting color, but why would you need the interior any brighter than stock?

it's not really about making it all brighter - even though the trunk and glove box light are leap years ahead of the halogens - its about giving it a clean, crisp, refreshed look. the majority of the car is already led's, this sort of just completes the look. its nice having brighter lights on the bottom of the doors at night when you get in/out of the car. and fwiw, the only time its brighter in the car is when you have the overhead light on...which you would never do while driving.

so if your looking for "romance" lighting and you think the halogen's are it for you...maybe its because you don't want to see your dates face ;)

Agreed. For me, its not about being brighter...its about a "pure" looking white light instead of the yellowish stock lights. And having the black/silver seats with LED lights just looks awesome compared to stock. But like most mods, it's a personal preference.

Were you able to switch out the small overhead map lights to led from Tunerdome as well? How about the vanity mirror lights when you open the visors?

has anyone tried to match the footwell lighting? I recall that having more of a blue tint.

Ordered a single replacement from Tunerdoes for my rear plate light. I wanted to match it to the small led housed in my aftermarket reverse camera (which replaces the rear plate light housing on the opposite side.

The Tunerdomes error cancelling festoon 36mm Hyperwhite was too white in comparison to the camera plate light but beautiful and crisp! So maybe I will have to go with the remaining replacements and use that bulb for my interior.

By the way, does anyone know if there are any ill effects of switching to leds?

I have to assume no and that they are actually better for your car's electrical system since they burn cooler and drain less power.

so I went with tunerdomes as well. Little bit cheaper than ECS and free shipping. if anyone has great install tips I'm all ears

Use flat head and turn off power to each bulb that your replacing.

Yes, I did the vanity and map lights along with the other interior lights in the kit. I didn't look or notice a color difference between the LED kit and the foot well LEDs, but I'm not that particular. No issues (errors, etc) at all with the LED lights.

I went with the ECS kit for my 2013 but my only issue is that the bulbs used in the smaller round map lights are not bright enough. They might even be worse than the factory halogens, and that goes for the boot as well. Need to find some better options for those. The other overheads put out a lot of light. Anyone else with ECS Ziza kit notice this?

Also, the LED lighting for me is whiter which I like and they use less power so if a doors left open its a bit of extra insurance on a dead battery.

The 2013 for those interested already have LED footwell lights and License plate lights so its a bit cheaper to upgrade and finish off the look.

I also went with the tunerdome set. Matches the footwells. No issues at all. As far as installation, I bought the $6.00 interior trim kit from Harbor Freight - made life a lot easier & didn't damage or scratch anything.
