1.8 aeb 1999 5speed (B5 Passat station wagon)

Clutch grips way high up on pedal%93 released pedal ,and the trow out bearing makes noise, and there is noticeable jerk between push and pull on the Dual Mass Fly wheel (as I suspect).
I think replacement will be do soon.

Do not buy an eBay clutch kit. If your on a budget, the RA4 kit from ECS is a pretty solid choice.

This is the kit I am talking about http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Passat_B5-FWD-1.8T/Drivetrain/Clutch/ES5485/

I do not trust the off brand flywheel in the eBay kit. Sachs and Luk are good companies, but the flywheel is what I'm wary of.

I see an unsprung clutch disk and single-mass flywheel, not a good combination if you're looking for any sort of daily driveability.

If the car is pretty much stock, FWD and your on a very tight budget then you really don't need much more then a stock clutch, other options would be the Valeo kit or the ECS stage 1 kit.

Im not even going to click the link... if your on a budget go for a stockie... or centerforce.. then later on join us boys running the fx400 on a 17lb fly ;)

Yep Mike has been helping me out a lot. He is a pleasure to do business with and he gives great advice with well reasoned explanations for his preferences.
