Hey guys fairly new to a4 scene but I've been searching for hours and can't pulls anything up on the awm. I just installed a new 710n dv and giac x ecu for my 2001.5. And in first and second I'm only boosting 10 psi I might spike to 11-12 but a solid 10 . But if I'm lower in my gears in 3rd thru 5th and get on it I spike at 22 and hold 20. But if I drop gear pull I'll spike maybe to 15-16 and hold solid at 10. I really don't get it from what I've checked I have no boost or vaccum leaks. And vaccum is were it should be on my boost gauge at idle or cruising. I know should get more boost through all my gears. So does anyone know what the culprit could be????

Also when installing the dv that the guy said was a 710n I noticed the last numbers on the div were 710 c is there really that much of a difference or are they really the same valve?

There are a few different versions of the 710 valve, different model cars use it but with a different letter at the end. The 710N is what came stock on the Audi TT along with a few other transverse 1.8t model cars.

There is also a 710P which is listed for the longitude 1.8t from 99 on.

The 710N is what most people suggest since it is a little stronger. Purems also lists a stronger valve http://www.purems.com/Products/4441895.BO.Diverter-Valve

The GIAC X chip should hit 18psi in 1st/2nd gear and 20-22psi in 3rd-5th.

But what would explain the only 10 psi and now I've noticed that the boost stutters and I also now have a po170 code after I installed my test pipe...

P0170
Fuel Trim,Bank1 Malfunction

Might want to check the first 02 sensor.

So the 710n isn't strong enough and about the boost and po170 problem. So would the 710c valve leak boost while trying to push 20 psi with the chip? And what's is the main cause of the po170 code BC I can't figure it out its look to be no apparent boost or vacuum
leaks so I really don't know what it is

That code has to do with fuel trim which has to do with the 02 sensor, this is why it stared to pop up after you installed the test pipe.

So does that mean my front o2 is bad or I'm running to lean or rich?

Most likely bad, if it was running lean/rich you would just get a lean/rich code.
