It seems like my remote range is absolutely terrible. I have to be within 20-30 feet of my car for the remote to work even when pointing directly at it. I had a loaner A4 and the range was WAAAAAY longer. This happens with both of my keys and even happens with brand new batteries. Anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot? I am trying to avoid taking it in to the dealer because it's not close by.

Press it up to your chin while pressing the button. No joke, it helps.

This was an issue with my old A4 and helped if I really needed to unlock or lock from a distance, but not noticable for my current car as it has the keyless feature.

Bone conduction. This is absolutely true.

Yes I know that works. I also know it makes me look like a retard. The range is still awful...my B7 A4 had at least 4x the range.

I just attached my garage control module to my weener, so every time I hip thrust I can open my gate/garage.

But on a serious note, I have noticed different cars have different ranges, supwitthat?

Worked from at least 100' away the other day but pressing it against my chin.

Anyways...back on topic...nobody else has experience this problem? I am thinking there may be a problem with the receiver.

my 2008 a4 does the same thing, i just eventually got used to it. i had tried my 2nd key fob, and also tried changing batteries, i literally need to be within 10 steps for it to work, pisses me off...some other guys have amazing ranges, puts me to shame

yeah, its not great, I don't know many modern remotes that are any good, but my honda's were even worse.
