S6 revs to 5k+.. stock. My S4 revved to 3800, then 4500 after Stage2.

Either way, though it was interesting

That thing is too sick. I love that car. Now post up a vid of you racing your old car.

I suspect it revs to 5k to get the turbos spooled up.

I suspect your right. ALso since the car weighs more and probably has wider tires it also grips better at launch.

Whats with the check engine light? From the exhaust?

Yes, but there's probably a lot of clutch slippage to prevent drivetrain shock.

He states at end of video the CEL is from exhaust flap sensors which have been reinstalled.

Fonzie the car sounds great!

Watching the speedo on this video I almost feel that the S4 is faster on getting up to 80-100. But that might just be my mind seeing it differently.

THe short shift behavior on the S6 is just about identical to the 2011+ DSG s4s in manual mode. Shift out of first around 6200, 2nd around 6500 and near redline for third. I wonder what is beefed up in the S6 version of the DSG; anyone know if it's a different model #?

If you were reving to 3800 stage 1 and 4500 stage 2 I think that means you had versions of APR where launch control was buggered. Did APR ever get around to releasing an updated tune to address this?

Guage cluster is super nice! Shame that car doesn't come in a 6MT. I guess for a large car most people would opt for the auto anyways. I've love one of those but would miss rowing my own gears pretty quickly. Sexy tho! Thanks for sharing!

Agree about the MT, I just don't understand why halo-level cars from so many manufacturers choose not to offer them anymore. I (perfunctorily) comprehend the technological limitations of dealing with 420hp, but there have been solid manual transmissions + high hp combos around for decades. I guess we're on the cusp of a new paradigm re: transmissions / drivetrain mgmt vs. traditional thinking about how customers drive and want to drive their cars. I'll mourn the day when MTs are gone entirely, which may not be that far off.

The sound is freaking awesome! I wish I can afford one someday in the next few years.

Yea well the LC is suppose to be 3K Stock, with the APR tune it jumps up to like 4800 or 4200 but does not launch clean it bogs. APR is working on making it work.

Does the S6/7 have the same 7 speed DSG tranny as S4?

Very true... Porsche offeres it's new boxter in a 6MT which is good - and there are some cars like Lotus that still have a majority of their offerings in 6MT. The new Cadilac CTV (or whatever the supercar one is) comes in a 6MT also - so I think the American market will always demand the manual - but offerings will become less and less which sucks.

Is the S4 offered in the UK in a 6MT or is that only the American market?
