Any recommendations for a spray on and wipe off type wheel cleaner? I'm looking for something to get the weekly brake dust off my wheels, but a cleaner that doesn't require water (sprayed off with a hose). Basically something I can apply in my garage in the winter time or in-between washes during the warmer months. I have found that using a microfiber towel alone just doesn't seem to get all the brake dust off as cleanly as I'd like it to. There always seems some stubborn dust that doesn't want to come off without applying a cleaner. I have tried the Armor All Wheel Protectant, which does pretty good until it rains, then my wheels look a mess and I have to wipe it off and start again. I think the wheel wax that I apply twice a year may interfere with the AAWP, as I end up wiping my wheels down after a week even if it doesn't rain. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

Use a quick detailer?

Hmmm, never tried that. I wax my wheels, so maybe some Meguiars QD would help. Thanks

I usually wash mine with some ONR and some wheel woolies. Then dry them with a microfiber (they're gunmetal, so water spots show really well). Some diluted ONR would work as a quick detailer as well, that you could spray on and wipe off if they aren't too dirty

Perhaps you should try removing your wheels and thoroughly cleaning them then coating them with opticoat.

Clean your wheels completely, then try a wheel wax such as Prima Wheel Armour or Wolf's Rim Shield to help prevent brake dust and other crap from sticking to the wheel. I try to do this after every wash to make it easier to keep clean in between washes and it works very well. Most brake dust will wipe right off with a microfiber towel and a quick mist of Black Magic wheel cleaner (can be found at Wal-Mart... super cheap for in-between cleanings.)

I use ONR from time to time....but one thing I found is that if you intend to use the Armorall Rim Protectant (like many have been using lately) it will not work. The slickness of the ONR prevents the AARP from adhering to the wheel so the brake dust is back in no time. You would find the same issue with QD.
